Well the Mac 27" is great. Expensive their are so deals now with lower RAM.
Upgraded myself to 15 RAM. That is is far as the old one would go.
I have had Mac's for years. Right now I am on my 9 year old 27". Have edited 75 videos etc.
I use Photoshop and Adobe Suite ripoff. If you are handling big photo art files RAM will
be an issue as you know. My 27 will handle 4K video. For just a laptop a few years ago
I bought Macbook Air laptop for my wife and myself. It seems this simple computer has become
the gem of the line the last few years. They have a MacPro laptop expensive.
During the virus we moved in with my daughter. We use the MacBook Air stream comcast
and watch or plug into a TV and watch Comcast Xfinity.
I ran my art and production business on Mac's. We wanted PC's so much for your budget
too unreliable and Microsoft well that is another story. I do video editing and sometimes photos.
I use WD External drives and don't put the shots on videos on the computer. My rule
on the Mac 27 is keep the memory 75% free at all times. Good luck.

In case you forgot, it's an hour earlier than it would be if it weren't for the time change.

Jerry since the Covid I can't even remember what day it is. My wife and I walk around saying what day is today.
Stay safe you are a great poster. No nonsense just good thinking.

Well don't wan't to jinx you but--my best friend years ago asked for a photographer for his wedding
I wouldnt do it. So being in advertising I got a shooter and he bought a new flash. Flash didnt synch
no photos. Well they got divorced years later.

I would explain that your are going to shoot like a documentary or news event. No setup group shots.
Just whatever you can capture on the fly. If they understand this then OK. If they want what a pro
wedding guy would do say I can't do that.
Notes: I like the 24mm. I am a producer and videographer now. I was asked by the local chamber
to shoot a few events like news stories. I found the best setup was my Sony 6300 crop sensor with
my a 16 to 70 was just wide enough for group shots at the local high school dinner for honor students.
I have a Sony a7s II reputed to be one of the best full frame low light camera's my pro camera's are too complicated for a first time shoot of a wedding.
I hope this helps. Or doesnt confuse you. Tell them them the most honored wedding shooters
now shoot like stories and without big setups. You will need a good difused flash. Good luck.
PS one thought if you have a good smart phone to get a hand stabilizer to hold it and use that.
The problem is you will find wide angle really works and the newest phones have wide angle.

I switched to Sony's a few years ago. Had 2 Nikon D800's not so happy with either after years of Nikon's.
Took a new Sony NEX camera on a trip and loved it. Now I have had many Sony's a7s and the a7s II, s6300,
RX100 4 (great small camera). RX10 III 24 600 bridge camera. Amazing. And a PXW X70 small camcorder 10 bit have been shooting with for 5 years. I will say that more video shooting with the a7s being a low light revolution. The whole experience was great. When I got the a6300 I was shocked and how my shots and video were coming out. Good luck but some of the Sony bashers here (love Canon too expensive for video)
Nikon has been late to advance technology. Just my thoughts.
PS Sony has G lens expensive no more then Canon and Nikon quality lens. And their F4 series that came out early is very good. I found that Sony's success was their pricing surprise.

I made the mistake of thinking a maker of televisions could jump into the camera business. They still make great TVs. They got out of the camera business once before. They were in over their heads and were unable to learn and grow. They bailed out on customers once, what makes you think they won't bail again when an unforeseen problem shuts down their entire line? Canon makes imaging equipment. Sony makes televisions. Huge difference! Maybe Ford will bring back the Edsel?

Just some information. For 30 years I was in marketing. We had Sony video equipment. TV stations had Sony cameras. Out master video decks were Sony. Sony has been in the imaging business for years. Sony acquired
Minolta and eventually released DSLR's and mirrorless cameras that changed the whole game.
Canon is a great company. I like their camera's stills and video. A Sony NEX camera bought and taken on a trip
to london amazed me. I still own the Sony a7s II and it is an amazing camera. I own a Sony pxw-x70 10 bit video camera 6 years ago. Shot 100 video with it. Running and triathlon events. Local commercials and docs.
I paid $2500 for the camcorder and it can be had for now new for $1700. Canon makes great camera's and lens. I would love to own of their camcorders great gear. But pricing is way to high. They have many lens.
How many lens do you need?? Pricing is also what made the Sony surge. They were more affordable. Canon started the DSLR video rage with a video make on the II. The video and director became famous and started a revolution in doc video. My favorite Nikon waited and Canon waited years to join mirrorless. Unless you have specific assignments or creative work why would you need so many lens?

I have a ink contract with them for ink. They are great.
I get what I need. I think it is a small amount of money a month.
I called them and told them I was going to print a lot of color art
on letter size sheets with white framing.
They immediatly sent me a lot of cartridges all on my contract.

One thing I bought the 8710 officejet pro on a lark for a business
and office printer. Was an Epson buyer their newer machines all
had problems.
SURPRISE. I PRINTED A COUPLE OF GOOD COLOR SHOTS ON THIS
PRINTER AND I WAS SHOCKED HOW GOOO THE PRINTS WERE. USED
SEMI GLOSSY (THEIR PAPER) AND THE RESULTS WERE GREAT.
GOOD LUCK. PLASTERED MY SMALL OFFICE WITH TAPED UP PRINTS
OF FAVORITE SHOTS. GOT WOWS EVERYTIME SOMEONE WALKED IN.

I have a big photo trip planned and my Mac laptop has only 15gb of storage left. I’m concerned I won’t be able to download each days worth of raw files.
Any ideas besides getting a new computer?

CHG Nikon is right again. I have been using WD drives for years. When I work on my laptop
all work is saved to my small WD travel versions. I edit videos and shots and all are on WD drives
so my computer had the least amount of memory used up.

Good luck.

They are a very good company. My gear is kept in great condition. I sent some of the older stuff
like a Nikon FM and got $220 for it. I would highly recommend them for buying and selling.
The story about the service on the $6000 lens sent back for weight no problem tells the story.

Yuja Wang performs Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto. In my opinion, it is the most melodic piano concerto. Quite a few "popular" tunes have come from this.

https://youtu.be/ek_kKFE2ibo Wrong link - this is his 2nd piano sonata. I'll post the concerto later.

Here's the concerto: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=yuja+wang%2c+rachmaninov+2nd+piano+concerto&docid=608053737382873233&mid=EA118F3A6F14C4CEE32EEA118F3A6F14C4CEE32E&view=detail&FORM=VIRE

Yuja Wang performs Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concert... (show quote)

This is very personal Mark please forgive me for this post. The Sonata helped me so much in this moment. The Covid nightmare. Protecting my family and loved people. And most of all our life. My wife had a stroke in June and she has become unable to walk talk well or use the whole left side of her body. Other issues are our situation finacially with not great but OK. I take care of her most of the time. I am a very experienced creative in business and art of business. I forgot to listen to music. I played the sonata and it moved me so emotionally about life, creativity and the loving our loved ones and people in general. Thank you Tom

I will add this comment to help folks understand this lens which I have.
It has been overlooked because the G lens have moved it's F4 back.
This lens is terrific. Some lens are overlooked but I found out this 70-200
a bargain compared to the G version much more money.
In a list of great lens overlooked I found this Sony.
Good luck.

Microsoft has always bugged me. They are arrogant and many of their products
are not good. They were lucky to become the world's typewriter and biz go to.

I only have Microsoft office for the Mac. Which is not as good as the PC version.
At least once a month they challenge my word or excel as not approved
on only my iMac and laptop. So I have to wait online for the proof of ownership.
A few years ago I bought a budget HP PC to get back to having a PC for my
work which is on Mac's. To check if videos play right on PC's.
The HP said download Windows 10 with this machine. Never worked I
tried numerous times to get 10 the download would hang and never got
10 on the machine. Inquired for tech help never worked. Window's seems to be a disaster.

Yes in Asia people wear masks many times a year. A good friend told
me his daughter and friends were going to china and I have been there.
What did I suggest. Bringing you own face masks bad days. The air quality
is bad many times. 20 years ago we arrived in China and as we left the
airport the dust and wind outside were unbearable.

I am disappointed that so many American's are making mask's a political
freedom thing. I was listening to the radio and the moderator and folks
who called in were ranting about their freedom. Education in this country
has let a lot of people down. They haven't learned about responsibility.

Another suggestion more complicated is ebay. I a while ago got good prices
selling camera gear on ebay. The outlet and stores who buy do not pay as much
as some ebay folks will. Good luck.
