I put an optical flash trigger (cheap little box thingy) on the Bowens and used the popup flash to trigger the Bowens. No worries.

WOW!! Once in a lifetime! Keep that camera rig nearby always! You've obviously used it before to hone your skills to this level. Here's one payoff!

Said to allow easy background change! Was using 14, bought 2020. Same basic laborious background change procedure. Read the new instructions, seems the same as it was in 14. No video lesson on the "new" function.
I fell for it. Value of upgrade? "-$69!" On the whole I'm in the hole LOL. I was born on P.T.Barnum's "minute!"

Thanks! I think you nailed it. "Auto bracket" must be referring to the iHDR feature which takes multiple exposures and merges them in camera.

I've started doing some shooting in RAW, where I obviously have much more control. There are two downsides: one, I have to recognize when HDR would improve the photo and take a fraction of time to fiddle with the camera to activate it, and, two, it adds time to post processing.

Answer is in the user's manual. There is an easy to read and understand edition (by Graham Houghton for a fee) available on line. I had it for my FZ200, Explains it. That specific setting is useful for static subjects only, or else you get your result. It's an HDR setting.

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.

Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men. And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

YES! I have done the same cogitating on my collection of "tools." The thing that comes to the fore most clearly is that my best results have been achieved with the equipment I was most familiar with at the time. I thought a larger sensor would give me better insect pics, so went from a 6mp P&S to a crop at 16mp, now 24mp. While sorting/culling old pics I have come upon some (a few) that the higher end equipment couldn't match. On the other hand there were more "keepers" with the larger sensors. In the end it seems I do best when mastering (an ongoing quest) one system. Time to select that ONE system to keep or should it be TWO? Sigh! Guess I'll sleep on it.

Nasty looking critter, Scott, great capture.

I enjoy photographing these cute buggers. TINY is what they are. Size of a grain of rice. My grandson was exploring youtube videos, showed me one in which a poster described these tiny harmless critters as something that would/could attack and bite you! FAKE NEWS!! If you were reborn as an aphid, welll maybe but they are friendly to humans.
