I tried to repair a canon once and found from a technician that Canon intended for it to go bad after so much use. And he said I would have to replace 3 parts that are very hard to get to and my cost for parts would be 70% of the cost of a new printer.
Thanks for all the comments. I got an SX-50. In looking for it, I found several on the used market. I found one on Craigs list locally for sale by a man that had become ill and could no longer use it. He allowed me to try it out and I bought it for $175.
What camera would you recommend that is similar to the Canon SX-50/60? I've read that the SX-60 is not as good as the 50 and the 50 is not for sale at Canon.
I have used Ritz and gotten good results. I've tried Costco and theirs is good too, but they are further from my house than Ritz.
I have just replaced the batteries in two 5 year old Toshiba Laptops as I knew they were depleted. The new batteries are working fine.
I've had both eyes done and it actually improved my color perception. Before I could just pass the color test for my flight physical and now I see more true color. I think it removed a brownish cast to my vision. I do have more trouble with the viewfinder focus without glasses.
I ordered the Red River sampler and it has arrived. I'm impressed with it and will give it a good try.
I use the face recognition in Picasa. Does anyone know of another program that has this feature. This has helped me find specific pictures of people when I need it.
I have an Epson 837 printer and I buy mine at Costco, mail order. It has always worked well.
I had almost the same situation. A canon rep told me the ink in the two cartridges was different and it was not advisable to use it in the 100. I ended up offering all the CLI-8 ink to anyone that wanted it on the hog and did get a taker.
