Ok, I researched Mystic and Sturbridge Village. Both does not allow mono or tripods. only handheld. It states that on their site and in their Brochure as well. makes sense with the amount of people there at any one time. Tripods block the paths. I was born and raised in Newport R.I. They have no specific restrictions. But, in and around downtown would be difficult. And Newporters have zero patience.
Opinions,,,,, I sell my pictures using 8x10's and putting them in dollar store frames. Explaining that its a safe way for them to get it home and they can re-frame themselves. works for me and I do ok. But what about upping the product. Using 11x14 quality frames and using metal prints. This would allow them to take it home and hang it. MY cost to produce dollar store one is one dollar and 68 cents. Going the higher quality route would change my costs to about $20+ per print. long question shortened. better to sell more at a lower cost and sell more, or sell less at a higher cost. So, if you are taking your work to an art show, what would you do? sorry for rambling, but its 2am and I am at work
I would challenge anyone to pick up a rangefinder camera and shoot a roll of film. I bet you will use it more often than you think
I have read all the posts, yep snowing out bad, so I have the time. Not newbie. but willing to learn. So based on all the reply's, shooting raw/jpeg is the best option. But, I need to use a specific software program too edit raw. Its a too bit too complicated for my simple mind. What online program do u suggest to edit raw pictures that can make is almost as easy as editing a Jpeg.
you have a couple good ones there, the snow ones are not so good. you said you are a newbie. if thats the case, read your instruction book cover to cover. Dont have it? get it. other then that practice, practice, practice
