I am new to Hedgehog and digital photography but years ago was an active amateur film person. I think most of us are gadget people, that is we like to have lots of pieces of equipment to go with our interests. This leads me to ask what is in your bag? When you go out for a day planning to get some shots what do you take along. Do you bring only lenses you expect to use or more? Do you always have an extra battery? Do you always bring other items you may not expect to use, like filters, flash, etc. or leave them at home?

I take what lens(es) and other gear I expect to use/need. Always an extra battery and an extra memory card.

Usually what I think I'll need for that trip.
Always in the bag are a 50mm (zoom is on the camera), filters, spare batteries, extra memory, lens wipes, pen, small notebook. Usually added are the angle finder, remote release.

Same except I carry a 35mm in the bag and no angle finder. Depends on where and for how long.

So you are telling us that you typically walk around carrying a bag containing six heavy cameras, thirteen lenses plus a load of accessories. Loaded onto a mule?

I don't use a bag, but my photo vest contains 16-35 F4, 24-70 F4, 70-200 F4, one body, exposure meter, cable release, extra batteries, an emergency blanket, and a few filters (polarizer, neutral density, and adapter rings). In addition, I always have a tripod along.

I am old and feeble, so I don't carry a lot of equipment; what I do carry is heavy enough for me.

Depends on where I am going...

Daytime: Photowalking/Driving in the country, Camera, 24-70mm lens, 70-100mm lens. Extra battery, extra memory card, lens cloth, monopod. I always have a tripod in my vehicle, but find a monopod more mobile, it just depends on what your shooting.

Nighttime: Same as above, but tripod, for long exposures and a shutter release.

If you’re away from home it should be really easy, just see what you have with you!?!?

I just take what I'll need for the day which is usually 2 cameras with 2 different lenses. Don't have to swap out lenses if speed is of the essence. vz

I bring everything, as the moment I don't, it will become the moment I wished I would have. Don't leave home without it...

I sit, and think of what I am going to be shooting for the day. Street shooting I might only take the Tamron 24-70. A day at the Zoo, only the 70-200. Nightime Astro, the Sigma 24 mm f/1.4.
Out for a day hiking in the hills, the 28-300. On a road trip, just about everything.
