I don't perceive any judgement in my original response. I'm 70 years old and just wanted to point out an option to other collectors that have unused equipment. We may as well pass it on to someone that might cherish it and use it and this appears to be a better option than E-Bay
I recently took a look at all of the Nikon film equipment I had, six bodies and around 20 lenses and decided that it was crazy to hang on to them. My kids don't want to mess with film and they certainly have no idea of the value. KEH was having a buying event in town so I packed up the entire lot and made an appointment. The price they offered was disappointing but it was a few dollars over my walk away price, so now I have a Z6 with a small zoom and a lot more room in my office. (I will confess that I kept three of the newer lenses to use with the adapter)
I've been there six or seven times over the past 45 years and all you need for photo opportunities is to start walking. Fortunately you will be going before the roundup and pony swim. While it is a fun experience, it is hard to imagine that many people on a small island, but somehow they do it. On my most recent trip I found the best pony opportunities on the causeway between the islands.
If the 300MM is still available, I'll take it
Thanks for your reply. Despite the fact I was wearing my reading glasses and had the desk lamp on, I missed the release switch entirely. Problem resolved.
I recently purchased a black body Nikon EL from Japan. Don't ask why but it goes with the black body FTN, F2, F3, F4, F5. Along with the original Nikkormat EL and Nikon FTC 2 (chrome). I didn't think I had a problem until this evening when I discovered I could not get the back to open the Nikon EL. I slipped a roll in there with no issues but now I'm having a real one getting it to open. Reround fine, just can't to get the lock to disengage.
I'd appreciate any and all suggestions.
Ladies and Gentlemen, My wife gifted me with a new focusing screen for my Rollei 3.5, type 2 at Christmas. It recently arrived and I was hoping that one or many of you might have a source to mount it. From what I have seen, they quite often need to be shimmed in order to focus to infinity. I just kick myself that I didn't have the money, at the time, to have Harry include this in his CLA of the camera.
I'd welcome any names/practitioners in the Midwest.
If you can pick up a baby Rolliflex, that would be the way to go.
Thank you for your suggestions, I'll give it a try next time I am in Photoshop.
Is anyone aware of a quick and dirty way to calibrate the Epson SC P400 printer. I recalibrate my Samsung Screen on a regular basis using the Spyder5Pro but the output from the Epson printer bears very little relationship to what I see on the screen. I'm using Epson inks that are fresh and use the printer at least once a week to make sure that things are not degrading. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
I'll go along with the game: Nikon S2, Nikon FTN, Nikon F2, Nikon F3, Nikon F4, Nikon D70, Nikon D7000, Rolleiflex 3.5 E Type 2, Rolleicord Va, Rolleimagic 1, Leica D-Lux 3 and then a number of antique film cameras going back to the Spanish American War.
Yes, it is an MB-21. I was relying on memory and it is definitely starting to go. I was able to get it mounted when I turned the tripod mount without any difficulty. The fitting must need some lubrication, for I had to use another body in order to turn it but thank you for the suggestion.
I don't think it is the mount for I have no issues with my F, F2 & F3, just the F4. I just went and tried it again and the issue is the tripod fitting on the lens. It can't get past the MB 1 battery pack while it is mounted on the camera. Guess I'll just stick to using one of the other bodies with this lens. Thanks for your insights.
I have tried to mount this lens, which is the original 500MM Reflex on my Nikon F4 and gotten resistance. Can anyone suggest how I might make this combination compatible, or am I just out of luck?
I have used APS in Morton Grove, IL for all of my Nikon maintenance and repairs. They have very successfully worked with my Nikon S2 through the F4 and my digital cameras as well. Excellent turn around time with reasonable prices.
