I recently purchased a black body Nikon EL from Japan. Don't ask why but it goes with the black body FTN, F2, F3, F4, F5. Along with the original Nikkormat EL and Nikon FTC 2 (chrome). I didn't think I had a problem until this evening when I discovered I could not get the back to open the Nikon EL. I slipped a roll in there with no issues but now I'm having a real one getting it to open. Reround fine, just can't to get the lock to disengage.
I'd appreciate any and all suggestions.
Squeeze the back and front together HARD, at the latch, then pull up on the rewind lever.
Thanks for your reply. Despite the fact I was wearing my reading glasses and had the desk lamp on, I missed the release switch entirely. Problem resolved.
