Yeah, and now look what they get for catering to you ...

Hate to think of Olympus folding. . .but only time will tell. In the interim, I've got some pretty great gear that your Big Three are stealing features from for their new mirrorless lines -- and charging you a small fortune for.

P.S. Given the current market for photography gear, I wouldn't be surprised if Nikon soon falls into the same hole that Olympus did.

ZS 100 reviews indicate this would be a good choice.

If it were me, I'd sell both Nikons and use the money to get myself an Olympus EM5iii or an EM1ii with a 70-300 Oly lens. With M43 the crop factor is 2x. The gear is smaller, lighter, sharper, and full of features that neither of your Nikons have. And you have a few months to get used to it all before your trip.

Or if you shoot an Olympus EM 1 Mark ll camera, you can correct in camera before you take the shot.

It's not just the EM1ii. I have keystone correction on my EM10iii and EM5iii.

Understand your feelings well, but don’t trade your cloud storage for a cheap HD!

I don't understand why storage on "a cheap HD" is a bad thing. . . I hesitate to use cloud storage because I don't want to worry about hackers.

I have two cheap HD, one with my photos and the other as a backup. Haven't had a problem with either of them (yet). But if there are problems in the offing, please do let me know!

Not a "big boy" camera:
Olympus E-M10MarkII
OLYMPUS M.Zuiko lens, 75-300mm F4.8-6.7 II
.[/quote]

Maybe not a big-boy camera, but it certainly is top-of-the-line when it come to color. All Olympus cameras excel in color technology. IMHO.

I've searched this topic but still don't get the general idea. I have an Olympus Pen and would like to try some older manual lenses on it and realize I need to get the appropriate adapters to mount the lens. Now, if I put the camera in Manual mode and set the lens aperture and manual focus, do I have to set the aperture in the camera to that of the lens. ISO in auto?? Shutter speed?? Or, should I be using Shutter Priority?? I'm confused as to how the camera interacts with a manual lens. Thanks for any help.

I know you have a PenF but Robin Wong just did a video on manual lenses on Olympus OM-D.

Yes, that news certainly made the market happy... I saw an article this morning that reported Kodak's stock was up 203% yesterday and is up another 60% in pre-market trading this morning. Crazy....

Everybody here is Rochester and its surrounds are quite hopeful!

Other options are a monopod or a pistol grip which attaches to the tripod socket.

or better yet, try an Olympus OM-D with 5-axis in-body stabilization. That plus the lighter weight of both camera and lens allows hand-holding at much slower shutter speeds that you would expect. Even silky water!

now that's funny!

Me, I took the high road to m43, didn't even make it to the Canon-Sony exit!

I've got a Slik, too, but I find that I use my Bogan-Manfrotto more often. It's just as sturdy as the Slik but is even lighter. It cost me $3 at a GoodWill store. It had a good pan-and-tilt head but was missing the QR plate, so that cost me $7 from B&H. Not bad for a $10 investment!

P.S. I find the carbon fiber tripods are easy to topple, unless you weight them down with something (like hanging your camera bag on them). The carbon fiber is easier on your hands in the very cold weather, but I wrapped some electrical tape around the parts of the legs that I tend to grasp on my aluminum B-M, so the cold isn't so bothersome.

I want to buy another camera body and love my canon 77d. When I retired 2 yrs ago looked at other canons but this met my needs and price point. I cant find one refurbished and did a search for used. B and H, KEH, MPB, and Adorama. no stock left of that camera. I would buy a body only.
Abes of Maine comes up over and over but from reading here terrible reputation. Canon USA will repair grey market cameras. Does anyone know what tricks they pull. Over the years I've dealt with some shady NYC camera stories over my life until
B and H came along.
Abes price on new is hundreds dollars cheaper. I can resist hard sells but I've read somany bad stories and BBB gives them an F.
I'm happy with a used body but the price btw used body and new grey market not much.
Any other dealers to look into as the 77d just not available. Maybe canon coming out with a new model or they relying on the T8i replacing it. Thanks.

The Olympus EM1x and EM1iii both have Live ND.

Well, I'm not a cheerleader and I'm not on the B&H payroll, but every dealing I have had with them has been excellent. I do prefer shopping locally, though, but when that can't happen it's good to know that B&H is available with just a couple of mouse clicks.

And the Payboo card rocks!!!
