Cute ---
But does it now or better yet has it ever really mattered ???
No, it doesn't. I just thought this "photo" was funny.
Sony is an unplanned, knee jerk reaction. Canon is planned out, straight driving. Canon is the answer.

Yes, Canon might not be the first out of the gate because it takes the time to thoughtfully think things through for the long haul and make intelligent long term decisions...
Seriously?
It's humor.
Lighten up.
Figuring at least 12 pages for this one ... taking my entertainment where I can find it in these covid19 times. The roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd. The fanbois fandango!

Not to be just a passive ticket holder I’ll point out that Sony never rushed into anything. They made routine SLRs like every other brand. Then, being Sony, they stuck a little TV into the SLR viewer and called it an SLT. This acoarst brought the full time live view camera to the public but disguised it by including a mirror. Finally, ditching the mirror produced a smaller camera and eliminated the inaccuracy of mirror based AF. That was very gradual evolution ... not rushing into anything.
Please feel free ... feel motivated ! ... to pick nits, or even to futilely argue the complete opposite. We’ve got maaaaany pages to fill.
See ya in the funny papers !
Very clever, cute and original, Lorvey. Thanks for the morning laugh :-)

sony has been mirrorless a lot longer than canon/nikon a lot more native lenses and quality
Which brand doesn’t matter a lot. You can make great photographs with either. I have shot both systems extensively; Sony still does have more native mirrorless lenses, but more quality? No.
Hey, I didn't mean to start a fight. Just a little humor for the day.
But I think it does show the dilemma that some people are facing. I actually have a couple Canon DSLRs and a Sony mirrorless a6400. Like them all. I'm at the Y in the road and trying to decide if I should get a full frame Sony and get rid of the Canons or go the mirrorless route with Canon.
Another point unrelated to camera brands. This "photo" (with a little manipulation on the sign), shows what great composition can do for a photo. No words are needed. The photo tells the whole story. IMO, great composition always trumps a technically perfect photo.
Now please don't take this to the subject of Trump!
Leaked ? IIRC (!) today is Sony’s official announcement. Now to go check on my CRS syndrome .....

Very happy using a bunch of Sonys with a bunch of Canon lenses.
