1 & 2 look like Mums. 4 is a Hydrangea. Not sure about the others.

This was taken last night just before the full eclipse. D500, 600mm f/4G, 1.4X III teleconverter (effective 1260mm f/5.6), tripod, gear head, remote trigger shooting raw with white balance set to daylight. Took 9 images at 10fps, ISO 51200, f/5.6, 1/80 sec. Took the set in PS, manually aligned them, averaged them together for the result you see above. No color editing at all, no sharpening at all. I will continue to play as I know I can get a better result, but wanted to post here with minimal processing.
Just before the eclipse started my settings were ISO 800, f/8, 1/1000 sec. A huge difference in dynamic range.

Great job! Please post an update once you're "done" with editing. :-)
Nice! I'm glad you got to see it. We had storms in NY, so I saw nothing. I was all set with time lapse and star trails cameras...
B&H has declared today "World Backup Day" and as such, they have some pretty good sale prices on everything from hard drives to storage cards to USB thumb drives.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/dealZone.jspI just wanted to share, since I see a lot of threads around storage, this might be a good time to pick up a replacement drive, or add to the SD (or other format) card collection. I just got a GoPro 10 for my upcoming vacation, I might get a few extra MicroSD cards.
My Mom's husband passed away a few years ago, and he was quite the photographer, with a ton of gear. She is still finding things, and she sent me these two items a couple weeks ago. I can't tell if they work, I don't believe they do, and I wouldn't have much need for them even if they did. I do think they're cool, so I wanted to post some photos. I really don't know anything about either of these items.

I got the iphone 13 Pro when it came out, and I absolutely love it. Been with apple since the iphone 3 (I think), and never had a problem that couldn't happen to any other phone.
while I have not personally tested the cameras on any other phone, I am quite pleased with how good the 13 pro is. They introduced a macro feature, and its pretty great. So is the low-light functionality. I took my wife's 11 pro and my 13 pro outside one night to shoot into the sky just to see the difference, and it was incredible how much more detail was produced on my phone.
You really can't go wrong, the phones are all so comparable, that you just need to be happy. Sharing is great, but they can still email or message you any photos. :-)
I only shoot in RAW. The one time I switched to JPEG for my kid's baseball game, I forgot to switch it back until I got home from shooting Buttermilk Falls.
I vowed never to let that happen again. It doesnt take that long to let my computer convert to JPEG if I need it.
In 2017, I flew to Nashville for the solar eclipse and I took a Manfrotto 290 with ball head AND a Surui tripod as one of my carry-on items. I put them both in the same tripod case (Manfrotto MBAG80N) with a hand towel rolled up between them, and use a couple of Titan straps to secure them to each other, and the whole contraption fit behind everyone's carry-on luggage in the overhead space without any issue.
I guess its possible that a TSA agent would be a jerk, but if thats the case, just check it at that point. I'd rather be in possession of my equipment than to trust it to baggage handlers. If I had a smaller tripod, I might put it in my suitcase, but I don't have a travel tripod yet (looking at you, Peak Design!).
you'll be able to get some great star trails at BBNP, its a Dark Sky designated park. The Milky Way may be too low this time of year, but I'm jealous of the shots you'll get (if you shoot at night). If you have not done night shoots in the past, use your time before the trip to research it.
That is a fantastic story, thank you for sharing it.
Someone mentioned that the donor is likely to get some unexpected kindness, and I agree. But to the OP, please use this as an opportunity to pay it forward. Perform a random act of kindness to someone you don't know (or someone you do know). When I find unexpected good fortune, I tend to pay for the next person's order at the drive-thru. Makes me feel good, and hopefully, it brings a little light to their day too.
Having only been to the shore for vacations, its really cool to see the beach empty like that. We really like Sandy Hook, that was a lot of fun, and very strange to see Manhattan across the water. There is a place further south, near AC, a little town called Galloway. There is an historic golf resort called the Stockton Seaview, its been there over 100 years, but newly renovated. Its great because the place is empty during the day, and we have the pool to ourselves since we don't golf, and most of the folks who stay there are ONLY there for the golfing. Its about 10 minutes to AC, and the great part about that is you can leave AC whenever you want (its not that great to begin with).
We went to Cape May for the first time last year, and that was really a great place, I think we might find a place to stay in that area next time.

Don't you realize that he wouldn't have been able to even attach F lenses to the camera without FTZ?
The OP never stated which lenses he was trying to attach, hence my question.
Don't you realize you need to pay better attention?
Are you using Nikon Z lenses, or are they F-Mount? If F-Mount, I believe you need the adapter in order for them to work. I forget what the adapter is called, but essentially, because the Z7 is mirrorless, the adapter mimics the focal length from the F-Mount lens to the Z7's sensor. It also allows for autofocus, aperture control, etc.
