My Mom's husband passed away a few years ago, and he was quite the photographer, with a ton of gear. She is still finding things, and she sent me these two items a couple weeks ago. I can't tell if they work, I don't believe they do, and I wouldn't have much need for them even if they did. I do think they're cool, so I wanted to post some photos. I really don't know anything about either of these items.

The Weston is a selenium cell device and probably still works. I’ve used selenium cell devices and they’re a bit funky but reasonably accurate. In my film days with a Nikon F (not the FTN) they were a backup to my more modern Luna Pro.
The Sedic device is a CDS cell device and, most likely, requires a mercury or silver oxide battery. Mercury batteries aren’t available anymore.
Our onboard camera systems are accurate and convenient. Time to get a 11x14 frame at $Tree and mount these and others as an antique display. Then give it to Charity...
I have similar equipment and find it difficult to kiss it, say it was great in its time, give a eulogy, and toss it into the dumpster!!! I am getting to the point in life 86, that my daughter would be cursed by these things...
Consider giving the outdated gear to a camera club. The gear could serve as a conversation starter if nothing else.

I have my father's Weston meter , calibrated in an old ASA/ISO equivalent, forget what at the moment, can't use, can't get rid of either, some old darkroom trays too.
Look at it as a collectors item...have no idea of it's worth.
Little to no use in the digital world. Any of the modern mirrorless are accurate and built in...convenience amplified.
The Weston meter is definitely a personal collector's item- probably made in the 1950s. The other unit may work with a battery converter that enables the use of a currently available button battery in an old meter that required mercury cells. The expense may not be justified.
Both are nice keepsakes of an era gone by and the original owner.
My wife's uncle and grandfather were professional photograhers. I have some of their old gear that is now practically useless but we will never part with it.
