First off, I am operating on the most recent version of the MAC OS and the LR Classic subscription.

1) When using the Photo Merge > HDR commands in the Develop module, and checking the Create Stack option, one time it will drop the completed stack right where I have selected the photos from the filmstrip, but most often it will drop them at the end of the filmstrip, which is problematic for me. In addition, when opening the completed stack it does not consistently keep them grouped together but rather spreads them out within the filmstrip. Is there any way to control these occurrences or are they just software glitches?

2) When also working in the Develop module, every so often I will experience very large pixelization. Probably better described as large color blocks within my photo image. Possible reasons? I am hopeful this is not some sort of computer virus.

Thanks in advance!

My primary editing software is LR, and as such, I very infrequently use PS.

I am attempting to print three 3:1 vertical waterfall pics to fill the panes in an old wood window. The window panes measure 6 x 19-5/8 inches. So what I am basically attempting to do is print a 16 x 20 photo with my image in the middle, of which I will trim off the sides. However, most print shops have an auto crop factor that will not allow this. I am told that if I take the photos into PS and flatten them and put them on a 16 x 20 format layer I will be able to print a 16 x 20 photo with my 3:1 photo as described above.

For those that are more proficient with PS than myself, can you briefly provide the steps for doing this in PS? Thx in advance!

Heading to Whistler with an overnight stay in Bellingham in early August. Appreciate any photo opportunity suggestions, other than the Olympic Rings. Thanks in advance!

I played around with method you referenced with acceptable results. Perhaps a bit more uniform than what actually existed. I am sure this could be improved by varying the width of the rays.

Thank you all for your time and responses! Mucho appreciado!

Interesting! Thank you, I will experiment with this option/trick.

Hi Jon, is this the original exposure or did you lighten when processing? It's possible that starting with a darker exposure and selectively lightening the lower half will help keep the rays more visible. Then, with a gentle hand, you can manipulate the sky for contrast, details/clarity, mid-tones etc.

Can you post an unedited version? If you shoot in raw and the file isn't more than 20 MB (maybe 22 on a good day), it should upload. There won't be a thumbnail, just a link. Thanks much!

Linda,

I checked and all three of my multiple exposure shots from this particular set are all lighter than the provided processed image. However, I have provided another darker unedited image from another multiple exposure set. Thanks!

I always struggle processing sun rays shining through the clouds at sunset. Can anyone familiar primarily with Lightroom explain how to make those sun rays pop? I have attached a photo as an example. Thanks!

My download on my imac was painless. In fact, it asked me where my current photos were stored and duplicated my file naming system seemlessly.

I have though experienced the following processing bugs:

1) When a picture loads it turns red for a moment.
2) When syncing photo adjustments half the time it actually copies the source photo rather than syncing the adjustments. And I have also experienced the weird crop and stretch an earlier poster mentioned.
3) After using the Erase tool, my workspace/adjustments dissappear. My adjustments remain, but I am forced to go back to a blank Portrait workspace.
4) when I click on the right arrow to edit the next picture, it often moves forward two pictures rather than one.

Hey, bugs are expected, and given the zero upgrade charge (kudos Skylum!), I am willing to accept and am sure will soon be remedied. No complaints here!

While I can appreciate the artistic effort, the second one works for me, the first and third not so much for this genre of photography.

No, actually, they all look very different.

It is us men, with the mentality of the dog from the movie UP! ("Squirrel!) that make them look the same! I believe the women call this "One Track Mind!"

Very nice and imaginative shot!

Surprisingly to me, the coating on mine did not hold up very well, and with relatively little use. You state you do not want other brand recommendations so I will not give mine, but I would think twice about buying the one you reference.

My two cents worth, keep the change!

Great video! I enjoyed it.

Only suggestion would be to start off letting your viewers that have no clue where your subject is located know where it is ("North America" is not very specific).

Thanks!

The first one looks like it has a directional arrow guiding one to the heavens!

The second one looks like it collided with another star/planet and got smooshed!

Nice shots both!
