There are great birding places all over Florida. Palm Beach County has The Loxahatchee National Refuge, and within a 15 minute drive from there is the Green Cay Wetlands and The Wacodahatchee Wetlands. They are all in Boynton Beach, and great places to shoot wildlife. The locals are always happy to tell you about the many other places nearby. There are lots of great restaurants at nearby Delray Beach, Atlantic Blvd. where you can have a fun evening.

I'd get a refurbished D7200. Great image quality.

It comes with a lens hood and a tripod collar that has a Arca mount built in. Also the lens has a $40 option "the Tap-in Console" for fine tuning for lens to your camera. I've had mine for 3 years and I love it. I just sent mine back to Tamron for a cleaning and look over. They are also replacing the rubber grips at no charge. The lens has a 6 year warrantee. I highly recommend this lens. The shot if this Snail Kite below was taken with the Tamron 150-600 and a D850

I am new in the area. I am looking for a shooting partner, for general, wildlife, etc., etc.

Hopefully someone that knows the area, events, etc.

I give photo tours at the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Boynton Beach, FL every Saturday at 9:30am (weather permitting).
Free and open to the public. There is a small entry fee to get into the refuge.

You need to use the primary card slot. If you have an XQD card, use that one.

You should look into getting a BenQ photo editing monitor. I have one and it is great.
They make several different ones.
Check out the videos below. There is also the info and reviews of these monitors online.

One more thing, you need to make sure that your video care supports a higher resolution monitor.

You might try to turn ON or OFF your "Use Graphics Processor" in the Lightroom Preferences under the Performance tab.
This directs the computer to get processing assistance from your video card along with just the cpu on the computer. Some cards are not efficient with Lightroom. You'll have to try with works better ON or OFF.
I would keep the Camera Raw cashe setting to at least 200 GB ( it is in the performance tab also )
I would also clear your PRAM. It won't hirt anything and will help you mac run better.
To do this, hold down the OPTION- COMMAND- and the P and R keys all together at the same time as you restart your computer.
When mac restarts that initial time, it will starts slower. The next time you restart it will be normal and from then on should run faster.
Here is a link to explain it:

Maybe you have a corrupted file. I would delete it and download the Tap-in software again from the Tamron site. I just checked it again, and it works fine.

I am glad you have no problems with the Tap-in.I went to the Tamron Tap-in page and it shows it is compatible with Mac OS 10.10-10,11. I also have io.13.6 update.Thank you for your response.

I just checked, the latest macOS is Version 10.13.6. That is what I am running on my mac and the Tap-in Console works perfectly with my two Tamron lenses. (100-400mm and the 150-600mm G2).

I just purchase the TapIN a few days ago, but found out that if you have the latest update to High Sierra ( Mac OS ) it does not work, appears to download okay, but will not not open. Talk with Tamron they aren"t going to upgrade the firmware.

I agree. It's great for fine tuning zoom lenses, but takes a lot of time, the results, if it is done properly is well worth the effort. I have 2 Tamron lenses ( 100-400mm and the 150-600 g2 ) and I got both to be tack sharp throughout the range of the lenses.

Have a few Tamron lenses including the 18-400mm (nice, versatile, lens) and the Tap-In. The problem with the "fine tune" feature on my Nikon bodies is that you only have one adjustment for a lens, which is great for primes, but not so great for zooms. The Tap-In allows you to adjust several points at different distances and zoom settings. I test each of my lenses using LV, manual focus and AF at different distances and zoom factors. When the AF is softer, I use the Tap-In to walk it in. It takes a lot of effort. For example, it took the whole weekend to adjust my Tamron 70-200mm f2.8, but when I started heavily using the lens, it was well worth it.

I have a program called imazing. I can transfer files from my iPad or iPhone to my Mac desktop. It also works with PC.
You can try it free here:

I have the !00-400 Tamron and the D7200. Its a great combination (See the attached shots). It is the equivalent to a 150-600mm on the D7200 - crop sensor camera. I also have the 150-600mm Tamron G2. If I were you, I would try to get the 150-600mm lens, If you can't by one, rent it for the trip. I think the reach will serve you better. They are both very sharp lenses. The 100-400 does not come with a tripod collar. It is a $100 option. The 100-400mm is smaller and lighter, if that's a concern. Also, both lenses work great on my D750.
