I am new in the area. I am looking for a shooting partner, for general, wildlife, etc., etc.

I'm on the other side of the state in Spring Hill, Hernando County so I wouldn't make a good partner.
I can make a couple of suggestions for you though. The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is wonderful and the Canaveral National Seashore. Like I said I live on the Gulf Coast so I'm not very familiar with the Atlantic Coast, but I have been to both of the places I mentioned and they are very good.
One thing to keep in mind is that the migratory bird season in Florida runs from November to April so you will see fewer birds in the summer than in the winter.

I am at 33472 Boynton Beach. I am only there 6 months and currently North. I shoot at Wakodahatchee, Green Cay, Peaceful Waters, and Loxahatchee National Preserve. If you would like to meet me at any of these places private message me and I will be happy to shoot with you. I must warn you, I open these places up in the morning, I am an early riser.

Suggest that you join meetup.com which is designed for this exact kind of thing...and join a photography club. Mine has outings all the time.

I am in Lecanto and am planning on getting back into wildlife photography. Do you have any recommendations for places in our area? I would have expected to see more birds in the summer. Thanks for correcting my misconception. Greatly appreciated.

I give photo tours at the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Boynton Beach, FL every Saturday at 9:30am (weather permitting).
Free and open to the public. There is a small entry fee to get into the refuge.
