I switched from the 18-200 to the 16-80. Very pleased with it. No complaints.

How about the Nikon D3500. I bought it as a backup camera to my D7500 and D90. Lightweight, easy to use. It is an APC camera, so if your Nikon equipment is full frame, you might want to look at a bridge camera instead, with a built in zoom lens.

Ok to make another point...I come across many people at my art shows as well as when I am out on a photo shoot. Many of them have very expensive cameras and such...but when all is said and done, they are simply a person with a camera. They have little or no clue about how to make a photo. Case in point: Over several years a gentleman came to visit with me at my art shows and asked me what type of camera I was using. He bought the camera. Next year he came back showed me the photos he had taken. They were awful. He had the same camera but did not have the Nikkor lens. Following year, he had my setup. Photos still bad. Poor color, many out of focus. Little or no thought to composition. Not using a photo printer either. Third year has the photo printer. Colors better, but other issues still evident. I asked if he had done any reading about photography or if he’s had read the camera manual. Nope!

I started taking photographs with a Kodak Pony. You had to set f/stop, aperture and distance. When I went to college, I shot with a Konica Autoreflex T. I remember the magic moment when the print started to appear in the developer tray. I set up a complete darkroom at my parent’s house that summer. I studied, read about photography, composition, lighting and learned the Zone System. Over the years I went from taking photographs to making photographs. In 2007 I switched from Analog to Digital. Ansel Adams once wrote that he wished he could live long enough to see the switch from Analog to Digital. Do I use software to post process my digital photo files on my fine art work, model shoots, party photos, etc ? Of course I do!
Just like the days I used film, the print I envisioned in my head before I even brought the camera up to my eye takes shape in post processing. I am and have always been a photographer.

I understand that folks in my parents' generation would be appalled at the lack of respect for other people and their "things" among so many 21st century Americans, and rightly so. When I was growing up, we "kids" ranged all over town, in anyone's "yard", and nobody minded because there was literally no vandalism or property damage going on.
I have found so many public structures (covered wooden bridges, 19th century stone-arch bridges, etc) where the folks who own the properties next to them put up more "No Trespassing/Keep Out" signs than there are Billboards on I-95 around Philly.
I do admit that some of my favorite photos were taken while I was standing next to a "Trespassers Will Be Shot" sign.
I was just wondering; If we tread lightly taking only photos and leaving only footprints, how do other Hogs feel we should handle such situations? If you were to enter into "The Forbidden Zone" for a shot, how far off the highway would you venture?
I understand that folks in my parents' generation ... (show quote)

I often come across "No Trespassing" Signs, and in most cases, I do my best to get the shot without doing so. I will admit that on some occasions I have "trespassed" a little bit to get past something in the way of my composition. Years ago I was trying to get a shot of a covered bridge and was leaning on a rock wall of someone's yard, trying to compose the photo. Suddenly a woman came out of the house and yelled, "What are you doing?" I explained I was trying to take a photograph of the covered bridge. She smiled and said, "Walk down here and come in my backyard. You can get much better shots in here I think." She was right.
Another time I was taking photos of sunflowers from the side of the road, since there was "the sign." A farmer came out from the field and asked what I was doing. When to told him I was trying to take photographs of his beautiful sunflowers, he smiled and said, "Follow me, there are some really nice sunflowers back further in the field."

In most cases, respect the property, for in some cases, if you don't the local police will "escort" you off the property.

Elements 14 is a RAM hog. I am on a Windows PC, 24 gigs of Ram, 4GZ, 4 gig Vid card and I have no issues.

Try cleaning up your computer using CCCleaner at the very least. A free program which I have been using for over 10 years( updated naturally).

Many friends having issues have used this program with great success.

I agree...have been using the software on a trial basis for several days, and it is not that slow, and does an amazing job in my humble opinion.

I downloaded the free trial and am quite impressed. It improved photographs I had post-processed using different software programs. The sharpening seemed to be quite precise and not over the top.

If you have not downloaded the free trial...do it right away.

I exhibit and sell at 10-15 art shows every year and have been using the Epson P600 with excellent results. Prior to this I was using a Canon 13x19 inch capable printer, but wanted to switch to Epson, which most photographers I know prefer.

I have both lenses. I bought the Sigma 10-20 several years ago. It is a great lens! But on my Nikon D7500 seemed overly heavy. I keep it on my D90 now. After reading reviews i opted for the Nikon 10-20 for the light weight, VR and fact it is an AP MODEL. Quality lens all around.

The negative is comparable to the composer's score and the print to its performance. Each performance differs in subtle ways. Ansel Adams
