Why is it that we collectively seem to only want the other side to be held accountable for their t***sgressions? The main-stream-media sure seem to take sides with the democrats.

I think perhaps the mainstream media seems to side with who they believe is telling the t***h. I have found that the only news source that I believe is NPR. They seem to get it right more often, don’t criticize those who disagree with them, and admit when they are wrong quicker than any other major news outlet.

The other day I saw a man wearing a T-shirt with a photo of our present president on it. Under the photograph were the words “TWO TERMS, DEAL WITH IT!”

When I smiled and said, “Yes I agree, one in New York State Prison and one in Federal Prison, he got very angry at me.

I guess some people just don’t have a sense of humor.

I took this photo with the first version of that lens two years ago. I shot hand held attached to my D610 Nikon and won second prize at our local wildlife park’s yearly photo contest. I don’t know why your images are soft, but perhaps you need to have the lens calibrated to your camera.

I bought my D610 over five years ago from Cameta. I also bought a gently used AF24-70f2.8 from a fellow hogger. I have had both of them cleaned and tuned up by Authorized Photo Service in suburban Chicago and the pair work perfectly together. I also use all of my old Nikkor film lenses, manual and autofocus, on my D610 and have had no problem with any of them. I see no reason to replace or upgrade to something newer because this camera meets all of my needs.

Only four, the Bose radio, the stove, the microwave and my Seico analog watch. My atomic clock, my laptop, and IPhone take care of that by themselves.

Thanks Fotomacher. I called both and neither can fix the camera. I did find somewhere though... Authorized Photo Service of Morton Grove, IL. However, their quote was nearly what another camera costs. That's what happens when parts are scarce. I love that F5, so I will likely get it repaired. Better to know it's fixed than get another that may develop the exact same (common) problem.

I highly recommend Authorized Photo Service in Morton Grove, IL. They used to be the factory authorized Nikon service center here in the Midwest before Nikon downsized and abandoned us here in “flyover country”. They completely rebuilt my AF 27-70 f2.8 and made it like new very reasonably. You may find that the price you end up paying will be much less than the original quote once they have your camera. They are great people and will treat you fairly.

Anybody have experience with these two, I have the D700 and was wondering if the D610 is much of a step up

I purchased a D610 new five years ago and it still does everything I ask of it. The fact that Nikon still makes the D610 and has replaced the D700 with the D710 should tell you something about that camera. I would suggest that you consider the D610.

Before Ansel Adams, what we now call ‘post processing’ did not exist. I remember watching his program on PBS. In one episode, he came out of the darkroom with a print and put it into the microwave oven for 15 seconds. When he took it out, he said to the audience, “What can I say, it brings out the blacks.”

Ozark Airlines, which operated in Illinois and Missouri bought many of these and flew between local airports in the Midwest and Chicago, St. Louis, and other larger airports.

Jerry, in the 45 years I was a Journeyman Wireman and member of the IBEW, I saw many examples of the things you have shared with us, and to this day the inventiveness of unquantified amateurs and supposed ‘qualified professionals’ continues to amaze me. Thank you for the chuckles and shivers your post has given me this morning.

I just purchased a 1 TB G external hard drive. I got the Solid State version. A bit pricey but worth it to me

I use a 2TB WD hard drive to save my RAW files and a 3TB HD to back up everything. After five years they are less than hand full

I just returned from there having visited my daughter and grandchildren. Unfortunately the Pikes Peak cog train is out of service until next year. You might take a drive up US24 through the mountains and check out Cripple Creek, an old mining town that has been turned into a tourist attraction.
