The other day I saw a man wearing a T-shirt with a photo of our present president on it. Under the photograph were the words “TWO TERMS, DEAL WITH IT!”

When I smiled and said, “Yes I agree, one in New York State Prison and one in Federal Prison, he got very angry at me.

I guess some people just don’t have a sense of humor.

Why is it that we collectively seem to only want the other side to be held accountable for their t***sgressions? The main-stream-media sure seem to take sides with the democrats.

I think perhaps the mainstream media seems to side with who they believe is telling the t***h. I have found that the only news source that I believe is NPR. They seem to get it right more often, don’t criticize those who disagree with them, and admit when they are wrong quicker than any other major news outlet.

I have been listening to NPR for years and my only real disappointment is their obvious left bias.

These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Overall, we rate NPR (National Public Radio) Left-Center Biased based on story se******n that leans slightly left and Very High for factual reporting due to thorough sourcing and very accurate news reporting.
Detailed Report
Factual Reporting: VERY HIGH
Country: USA
World Press Freedom Rank: USA 48/180

History

Founded in 1970, NPR (National Public Radio) is a nonprofit organization that produces and distributes news, talk, cultural programming, music and entertainment programs, including the premier news magazines Morning Edition and All Things Considered across broadcast and digital platforms. NPR is based in Washington, D.C.

NPR was established after President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967. The act created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting(CPB), the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and National Public Radio (NPR).

The first program broadcast on NPR was live coverage of the U.S. Senate deliberations on the Vietnam War in April 1971. NPR has also won numerous awards since its launch. Currently, Jarl Mohn is the CEO of NPR and the Ombudsman/Public Editor is Elizabeth Jensen. A list of NPR’s Board of Directors can be found Here.

Read our profile on United States government and media.

Funded by / Ownership

According to a Columbia Journalism Review article dated 2010, a large portion of NPR’s revenue comes from dues and fees paid by Member stations and by corporate sponsorships. In another article by Columbia Journalism Review they state that as of 2017, NPR receives less than 1 percent of its total funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting(CPB). Other sources of revenue include institutional grants, individual contributions and fees paid by users of the Public Radio Satellite System. You can view all of NPR’s Financial Statements Here.

Analysis / Bias

In 2000, the conservative pro-Israel media watchdog group CAMERA, accused NPR of being biased against Israel. In 2001, FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting), a progressive media watchdog group criticized NPR for favoring Israel. FAIR also states “NPR is definitely skewing right.” Tim Groseclose, a professor in the Economics and Political Science Department at UCLA, and Jeff Milyo, an economics professor at the University of Missouri, reports NPR has liberal bias. Further, according to a Pew Research survey, 67% of NPR listeners identify as left of center, with 41% claiming to be consistently liberal. Finally, According to the Washington Post, NPR CEO Jarl Mohn has contributed to Democratic candidates in statewide races, including the campaign of Robert Reich, President Bill Clinton’s secretary of labor.

In review, NPR (National Public Radio) uses moderately emotional loaded headlines such as this: “President Trump’s Description of What’s ‘F**e’ Is Expanding.” Generally, story se******n favors the Left with stories such as these: “Rise Of L***Q Candidates Could Usher In A ‘Rainbow Wave’ In 2018” and Majority Of Americans Don’t Want Roe v. Wade Overturned. They also report right leaning opinion pieces such as this: A Free-Market Economy Keeps Capitalism Ticking.

NPR reports world news with neutral headlines such as “In Bangladeshi Camps, Rohingya Refugees Try To Move Forward With Their Lives. NPR typically sources their information to credible sources such as the Washington Post, maristpoll.marist.edu, ohchr.org, The Economist, UNICEF, New York Times and many more. NPR’s news reporting is consistently low biased, factual and covers both sides of issues. However, taken on a whole, NPR is favored by a liberal audience, which indicates programming and story se******n tends to lean left to appeal to their core listeners. For example, A 2014 Pew Research Survey found that 67% of NPR’s audience is consistently or mostly liberal, 21% Mixed and 12% consistently or mostly conservative. This indicates that NPR is strongly preferred by a more liberal audience.

A factual search reveals that NPR has not failed a fact check.

Overall, we rate NPR (National Public Radio) Left-Center Biased based on story se******n that leans slightly left and Very High for factual reporting due to thorough sourcing and very accurate news reporting. (5/18/2016) Updated (M. Huitsing 10/7/2019)

It is just slightly left from center.

You could not possibly be more wrong. Main stream media sides with the democrat POSITION. Period. Many times they have to come back and eat crow because they were caught in their lies.

On a scale from 0-10, where 5 is the absolute neutral center and where the MSM scores less than 1, I guess NPR can be called "just slightly left from center" if you consider 2.x just "slightly" left of center.

What do you think about the democrat media being wrong about Trump for the last three years and counting?

Here's my take on the "Mainstream Media". I find it difficult to believe that there would be NO positive story out of all of the things the President has done. I suspect that even the most vial person did at least one positive thing in their life.

When the Mainstream Media ignores even the President's compassion for a fallen military hero, that my friend, is pretty pathetic and petty of them.

Frankly, the power of the government lays with Congress and the Senate. Congress writes the Bills, v**es to pass them and the Senate v**es to either accept or reject it. The President can veto it when it passes however his veto can be overturned. Even the President's Executive Order can be stopped by a single Federal Judge as we have seen. What this means is, "If you don't like the laws and regulations of the Federal Government....Change your Representatives and Senators for they are the real ones to blame. Especially if your Representative or Senator have been embedded for decades which many have.

Like or h**e Fox News, at least they have someone that has an opposing viewpoint on each segment they broadcast. It is a true, Point and Counterpoint and a want-to-know audience wants to hear both sides of all issues.
