PS: that time of year, be careful of rattle snakes - not a lot around there - but for me one is too many. Actually any where in the Eastern Washington/Oregon areas there is always a possibility of a rattler.
There was a trail from the park down to the pool below the falls - only about a foot or so wide - but we (my dad and mom and I) walked down it. Unique view of the falls from there.
Used to be some old farm houses and barns in the areas you are looking to see - but most are gone now. Still some out there if you know where to go or have a lot of time to explore.
Joseph area has a lot of scenic shots - tall snow capped mts. Used to be old barns etc over in that area - but its been at least 30 years since I have been over there.
Good luck on your trip...

Its been more than a few years since I was at Palouse Falls, but at that time if you took the trail down in to the gully formed by the rail road tracks and go upriver about a mile - maybe a little less there is a set of several smaller falls. Could offer some photographic opportunities.

I think so....it has two USB plugins that are blue and have SS by the side of one of them. I have no way of testing these to see if they are working though, as the only usb 3 device I have is the Passport drive.

Good Morning, everyone....wanted to1st thank everyone for the help/info you have given previously.. Thank you.

I purchased a Western Digital Passport for file backups. I did not install the software for it, because I did not want to 1) backup things I did not need to backup and 2) did not want any other software on my computer that I have no control over...just got over that one with a $150.00 Windows reload bill.

Problem: It seems to "go to sleep".... and I can not wake it up with out rebooting my whole system. After several hours it will show my folders - but says they are empty.
After a day or so the Passport doesn't even show up on my Explorer screen.
Has any one had the same problems and how did you fix it??

Good Morning. Hope I am replying directly to you...althought it doesn't matter.
You said your Giotto legs were more stable than the Manfrotto X pro, is that right?? Which Giotto legs do you have?
Too many tripods to look at on the internet. Hard to visualize what I want and need. Would prefur to see them in person. (live in Eastern Oregon - no descent camera stores within at least 150 miles).
WIll be using a Canon 5D Mark III, with (largest lens) a Canon EF "L" 400 mm F5.6 lens.

Good Morning, everyone. I watched the tripod video - interesting, but had one serious objection: (for all you serious Canon people out there)... he had a Nikon strap on his Canon camera...ug....

Ok, on to my question: I had a Bogan 3221 tripod with a 3047 head - sold them a year or so ago, now want to get a new tripod. The Bogan was sturdy, although little heavy tripod. Any suggestions for a new one. Manfrotto looks like a likely candidate.
