It looks like an unregulated marketplace for third party sellers. With such long shipping times, I suspect a lot comes from China.
It could also be that the companies that sell on Wish drop ship and do not make their orders until they have a large number of orders from wish customers.

Regardless, I will not buy from them.
Good luck.

I know this has been asked in various forms before, but I am asking in a different way.

I am retired and mildly disabled, and am seeking to find a camera to learn photography from. I prefer Canon, but will not yet limit myself to that, but it is preferred. I have no price range to state, because I do not know what is available, so I would not know how much it might cost me. And once I know how much, I can then work to get that amount of money to acquire it, as needed.

What I seek is a small camera that I can easily carry around with me all the time, similar to a cell phone or point and shoot in size, but not necessarily limited to that. Pocket sized would be most useful, but not necessarily required. I am mildly handicapped, which made that requirement somewhat important.

The important things other than size and transportability are:

Can shoot in various modes: Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Program mode, as well as auto.
One that shoots RAW as well as JPEG.
A pretty good amount of zoom with the fixed lens or ability to change lenses (preferred but not required).
A reasonable low light capability.

I realize that I seek a lot, but I just want to know what is out there, especially since I am not really familiar with all or most of what is out there, and I see so many things that people speak of here in Ugly Hedgehog, that I had never heard of before, so I ask here. If you give me a brand and model number, I can look for info online about it, but it needs to be a USA-available camera.

I would appreciate any help I can get with this. Please resist the snarky comments. I am rather new to photography, but seek to learn as something to do, and want to learn to a fairly deep level, but I need a place from which to start. Thank you, in advance.
I know this has been asked in various forms before... (show quote)

EOS M50 with M lenses.
Google Canon Price Watch for current prices from authorized dealers as well as refurbs from Canon and used specials.
The M kit lens (Canon EF-M 15-45mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM) does a reasonably good job. I have been very happy with flower and people pictures taken with it. They also have a zoom that is lightweight and does a reasonably good job (Canon EF-M 55-200mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM) as well as prime lenses and other zooms.
I have tested this camera with the EF-70-300 IS USM II lens and it works very well.
I have tested this camera with the Sigma 100-400 Contemporary and have mixed thoughts. You need the Canon EF to M adapter to use EF lenses.
It will run full auto, partial auto or full on manual in either raw (CR3 format) or JPG.

I downloaded the latest version of Irfanview and low and behold it doesn't draw a blank with either NEF or DNG formats. You can work with them but you can't save in RAW format. You're stuck with jpeg.

If you are a Canon user, it will open CR2 and CR3 Raw files.

You did notice that I said I have OWNED both versions of the Canon and the Tamron!!!! Right, of course you did.

I use my Canon 100-400L mk2 and my Tamron 150-600 G2 (and the first versions before them) all the time for birds, butterflies etc.

The link is to an evaluation of the 4 available 150-600 lenses on the market (yes all four are in production) for comparison. I have in the past read an expanded version of the same article, that I lost my bookmark for when a drive went bad on me that included shots and commentary by a professional wildlife photographer whose conclusion was that he could produce quality publishable images with all of them but considered the Tamron G2 to be the overall best choice.

I use the Tamron when I need maximum reach, the Canon for carry and hand held. And before you come up with it, Yes, I do own a Canon 1.4x III I use on the Canon frequently and a Tamron 1.4x for the Tamron. With those they also produce very good images though the Tamron becomes a manual focus lens with some bodies or in less than great light. I have used it on 4 different Canon bodies plus my wife's T6s and our daughter used them on her T2i before she left for medical school.

I also have the Tamron G2 and the Tamron 1.4 extender. I do not find the quality of the Tamron 1.4 with the G2 to be acceptable. Frankly, I do not find the G2 iq acceptable with either the Tamron 1.4 built for it or the Canon 1.4 III. On its own, the G2 is perfectly acceptable.

Your mileage may vary.

I was thinking of buying a 150-600 Tamron G2 lens. All my UHH searches are older reviews.
Anyone have one and can give me a review. Also looked at sigma 150-600 but the sport is heavy and pricey and contemporary seems not as good as newer Tamron G2. Camera is Canon d77. Use will vary but wildlife and birding are potential subjects

Rather than ask people that are not you, see if you can rent one.
This way you can test it for yourself, on your camera, with your skills, on your type of photography.

Just a thought.

Well, given a choice between a bird and a mole I select being a mole.

A bird whatever it does has to be weary of everything from above, below and in between.

As a mole, the only thing to worry about is a flood and even then going to the surface can save you, beside food goes up with you! Hot? Cold? windy? No problem, underground the temperature does not vary that much. No light? Who cares, a mole is near sighted (or so it is said). Singing? Bah, over rated.

So given a choice what do would you consider as a 'life form' if you had a choice?

I know some will try to put me down as being an idiot among other things to even think of that. Good for them, it is just a réflexion of their own value, no skin of my back.

Socialization is forced upon me, not something I go looking for.

I consistently get good -great results.

This is your thread, ask away!
Noise depends upon the ambient light, your lens, your camera and your settings.
In good light, with a 1.4 extender the Tamron G2 can be noise free.

Mirror lenses typically have a fixed aperture and it is high. I have heard some are variable, however they typically start at f/8 or higher.

I am very interested in your take on the canon 28-300 L. When I call BH they say it isn't as clear and sharp as other lenses because of the wide range of telephoto. Are you finding this true. Otherwise the 28-300 seems like the perfect all around lens for many applications.

I have the 28-300 L.
I agree it is big and heavy.
I initially bought mine to use with my 6DII doing soccer game videos. It worked out really well for this.
I have used it as a walk around lens as well. It's build and fairly consistent IQ through out the range is why I choose it instead of a third party lens.

I have attached some samples taken over the summer 2019 at different focal lengths.

Mostly it would be to have in the backpack on a trail in a national park, say Yellowstone/GTNP and/or Glacier as examples since we keep returning there. So it might be big wildlife, moose, wolves, bear and such, maybe far off waterfalls, flora and fauna. I rented a 400 last summer and even that didn't have enough reach for how far away many creatures were. I can AF to f11, so the idea of a 300 with an extender is appealing.

Would you say the original 300 f4 is sharper than the current version?

First, a question. Which Canon Camera do you have that has AF at f/11? - Never mind, I see the Mirrorless R line will do that with compatible lenses.
Next, the 70-300 nano II can not be used with an extender
Third, the 300 f/4 IS is a wonderful lens. It is not, IMHO, as sharp as my 300 f/2.8 IS but is lightweight and easy to hand hold or pack around all day.
