Yes, it came with the plastic cable routers . . .
No, it did not come with a hot shoe cover . . .

I have a Tamron 18-270 and a Tamron 18-400 . . . Both are excellent "do anything" and "walk-around" lenses . . .

The upgrade from a D300 should be to a D500 . . .

I have the Tamron 150-600 and the Tamron 18-400. I find myself using the 18-400 95% of the time . . . The 150-600 is only used when I'm in a static position and with a tripod. The 18-400 is much better for moving about . . .

Not exactly correct. You can only have it ACTIVATED on two computers. If you want to activate on a third the option appears to deactivate one of the other two. That’s one of the advantages of CC. You can be traveling and activate on any computer.

You are right . . . I didn't delete it . . . I had to "deactivate" it . . .

Download the Creative Cloud app from Adobe. Install and open that program. It will have you sign in to your account and set you up.

They only allow you to have it loaded on two (2) computers, so if you already have it on two (such as laptop and desktop) . . . You'll have to remove it from one of them before it will allow you to put it on your new computer. I ran into this when I replaced my laptop . . .

I upgraded from my D5500 to a D500 . . . So I've kept the D5500 as my backup. However, whenever the day comes that I can afford it . . . I will get another D500. The controls, features, buttons, etc. are too different between the two . . . I'd rather have a backup that is exactly the same as my primary. So if money is not an issue, get another D500 . . . MHO . . .

Check with your camera store . . . I got one for my D500 for about 30 bucks, brand name is Pixel Oppilas and has the 10 pin connector. Works quite well and has single, burst, bulb, and timer modes. I have been very pleased with it . . . .

My vote is for Tamron . . . I've seen several reviews that claim Tamron products are better than Sigma. I personally have a Tamron 18-270 and a Tamron 18-400 and am well pleased with both . . .

I keep a Tamron 18-400 on my D500 as my main lens, but usually have a Tokina 11-16 close at hand in case of an opportunity for a ultra wide angle shot. . . .

You can reset the letters from DSC to something else like TRP or any three letters you want . . . That way even if it does roll over, all the pics will have the new prefix . . .

I have a Tamron 18-270 and love it . . . When I got my D500, I also went with the 18-400 and love it also . . . The 18-270 stays on my D5500 and makes for a small and light walk around outfit. The 18-400 stays on the D500 and is also an excellent walk around outfit, although it is quite a bit heavier than the D5500 w/18-270 . . . I tend to use the D500 w/18-400 much more . . .
