I just filled out and returned a questionnaire from the RNC platform committee. It was a machine read form with a small section for additional comments. Following are my comments, overly brief but all I could squeeze into the small space provided.

I believe that until the party enforces the 1st amdmt right of freedom of and FROM religion and stops capitulation to religious zealots who would have a christian theocracy rule and until the party abandons its campaign against a womans right to choose, it is doomed to fail. The word god should not appear in a political party platform!"

I use Aperture and an iMac. and a couple of externals ...and a rather complicated to explain process of storing my images-- works well for me-- if you would like to have an explanation please send me a message---
since it is Mac and Aperture specific, it would be meaningless to go into it without knowing one would be interested.

BTW-- I also live in Pennsylvania

Me, too. I also live in Pennsylvania, NEPA in fact, and I have been using macs and Aperture for years. I also keep all my photos on two external hard drives.
I can help you with this. But since it's too much to type, PM me if you are interested, and we can set you up over the phone.

I was on another site, About Photography by Liz Masoner. There was a link to this site, which was new at the time. It said, "check out this new photography forum." I did, and I stayed.

I have a MacBook Pro with Retina display. It's beautiful. Really love it. I use Aperture 3 most of the time, but I also have Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6.

I forgot one item that is a must for me! I have to have a viewfinder as well as a small LCD screen. So I would like to have a small pocket size camera with better than 5x zoom, viewfinder, Small LCD screen, and because I will use it for web purposes or 4x6 photos I don't think the pixels need be to large would it? I doubt if there is anything like this made.

Check out the Leica d-lux 5 or 6. Great cameras. But they are expensive. Both also come with optional viewfinders, which are also expensive.

actually would look real hard at pentax. they kept the af motor where it belongs in the body, and put IS where it belongs again in the body. Plus I like that they are getting creative and thinking outside the box.

Just like Apple computers...once you try one, you'll never go back.

SORRY for the double post.

Last year I returned all my Nikon gear to B&H (D300, D700, D3s, & 10 lenses) and bought a Leica M9 rangefinder and 50mm Sumicron lens. I'm slowly adding Leica lenses.

Would I change brands today? Never. I love the Leica and that "Leica look".

Obviously you were typing this reply as I was asking the following question. This is the answer I was looking for.... Thanks any others care to weigh in?
Will I love my new Mac?

Yes, you will love your new Mac. But before you import any photos, download Apple's Aperture. It's vastly superior to iPhoto, and many find it to be equal to or better than Lightroom 4. I have both, and I use Aperture most of the time.

The Leica d-lux 5 and d-lux 6 are fantastic. Both have RAW capabilities and both have that "Leica look". The d-lux 6 has a 1.8 lens with an aperture ring on the lens itself. It's a beauty.
