lovely, thank U

the daff' or narcissus needs to be situated to right of frame or, crop a strip off the right side. Try it, you'll see how it settles as a picture.

Mrs Pansy is just superb.

I try to follow the "painting with light" point of view, so your daffodil appeals to me greatly!

I see you point and thanks for looking.
I was just fasinated by the light playing off the background follege. My wife complains that all the daffs look away from the house. Into the evening sun that comes from the back. It does disappoint her so as she plants them and they turn away from our view from the patio!

Linda,

Thanks for looking, I don't know but will look up that painting with light thing.
Just got a new lens an EF 135 f2 L and this is among the very first shots as the light was fading!

I tried to Google, but just come up with light painting technique! What I was thinking of was a quote in a book that I really enjoyed + I was trying to express that the quality of light, and its importance to the composition, is what interests me the most in taking or viewing a photo. The quote is: “Photography is painting with light, within slivers of time, within the frame of our image.” from "Within the Frame: the Journey of Photographic Vision" by David DuChemin

Linda,
thanks for taking the time to run that down for me, I will check it out. I have heard the painting with light term somewhere.
It was the light in that shot that made it for me. ;-)

Phyllis,

Well today it is cool to cold and raining here just north of Atlanta. But just wait the weather will change!

Thanks for posting Phyllis, I imagine your Avitar with a Smile! ;)

greymule,

Thanks, it was the lighting that motivated me to share this shot.

Cheers
