I purchased the Panasonic FZ200, but I knew I would not be able to carry it around with me each time I left the house. What is the best not so expensive
Good photo quality pocket carry camera with great zoom to carry in my pocket daily?
Thanks.

One of the small Panasonic Lumix zooms (12 times zoom up to 20 x). I have a Canon Powershot S100 now but it is more expensive and only has 4 X zoom. However it has excellent image quality...if set right.

There are a lot of pocket high zoom cameras out there. One in particular I've noticed is a Nikon P-8300 (not too sure about those numbers) It doesn't a lot of manual settings but it does have a decent zoom, 18X, I believe.

Don't want to divert the thread, but Greggie would you comment on how you like the FZ200? Do you get any noise when you use higher ISO?

Thanks, Beagleman

I've got both a Nikon Coolpix S600 and a Canon Powershot S100. Both do a great job and fir in my shirt pocket. Canon is a bit newer and better.

The best advise to give you is look online or go to your nearest camera store. There are many small point & shoot cameras that have a 20X lens or better, just depends on what brand you are most familer with.

Honestly, I have not shot any photos at high ISO's. What I have shot has not been grainy. Sorry

If you like Panasonic, try the ZS20 or ZS19 (which I also own). Both are 20X zoom, except that ZS19 doesn't have GPS. If you don't really need a long zoom, get the LX7 (3.8X) - one of my friends has one and it has higer image quality, has higer recommended in many reviews.

Panasonic Lumix usually carries Leica lens, not Carl Zeiss that Sony does.

Ha Ha, if its made by Panasonic it gets noise at anything over ISO 100. And even some then. JUNK.

I forgot one item that is a must for me! I have to have a viewfinder as well as a small LCD screen. So I would like to have a small pocket size camera with better than 5x zoom, viewfinder, Small LCD screen, and because I will use it for web purposes or 4x6 photos I don't think the pixels need be to large would it? I doubt if there is anything like this made.

Here's 3 shots(chosen randomly to show different times) of my Canon S100. It does not have a viewfinder, is a tad expensive, but I love having it in my pocket. The best camera is the one you have with you. It does seem to take great night shots.
