Hi Maggie ,
Adobe photoshop cs5 and now they just released the new version cs6, along with Lightroom , these are we shall say complex programs, for a beginner. As a semi or pro you can do anyThing with these programs once you learn.. The standard photoshop elements for your pc or Mac should do just fine and are easy to master.. Also the photoshop touch for your IPad is fairly easy to learn .
Good luck with your venture. I am sure there are a lot of great photographers here to help you..
I use my ipad2 everyday and have over 8000 photos stored on it , of. Course I have the 64k version.. There are several problems syncing photos to your iPad. If you use iCloud it will only sync the latest 1000 photos.. (apple really needs to improve this). You can always manually download photos from your camera direct or sd card . I have found an app called photo sync. Which is terrific and I can download wirelessly from my pc to ipad2 .. Works really cool.. Also the very best touch up is adobe photoshop touch.. It works wonderful on iPad, and should do most features you would want to do.. You can always do CS5 or CS6 on your pc or Mac and then photo sync them.. I have stayed away from Picasso because of several issues and the amount of photos I store, although some people love it , it was not for me.. I like to control my own folders and storage. Both of these apps are available at the apple app store on your iPad.. Hope this helps !
Thanks for the photos!. Lots of wrecks to explore there, enjoy!
I have an 18-270 and use it daily! I believe you would be happy with the wide range it offers..
Hey, great shots, I especially like the last one , new species of fish, looks like my daughter also.. The macro really makes a difference if you have the light.. What camera and brand of lense and it looks like you did not use a strobe. The one of the auger is really sharp.
Nice first shot , I think she is saying "come on make my day! Thanks for posting the shots.
D-7000. I have had mine over a year, it is no comparison to a 5100. I use my 7000 almost very day and the picture quality is fantastic. *****
Every starfish I photograph have different markings which is amazing almost like a fingerprint . This one was at 10 ft deep and the bright sun and clear Bahamas water made a great photo, along with a strobe light .When you snorkel or dive you can always find starfish as they make like a railroad track mark in the sand as they move..mainly on a clear sandy bottom ..just follow the tracks.
Yes we had about 110 sharks swimming around us , what a thrill.. took over 400 photos plus some video.. I am heading to Cape Fear in July for Megladon Shark teeth and 3 different wrecks off the coast , i have been going for the past two years and its a great dive about 80 to 110 depth. Some neat civil war wrecks and ww2 wrecks .
I am glad to see the underwater forum , and have enjoyed the many comments in the forum, as a newbe to this section , I am enclosing some of my shots in Nassau last month.. Looking forward to some deep wreck dives in June with a new Light & Motion 1200 light , Using an EPL-1 .

Really nice work, thanks for sharing.
Great choice , I have several cameras and the D7000 is my personal favorite, you will really enjoy it. The Manuel that comes with it is a real help and several Digital Photo magazine issues offered ,some great articles on the D7000. . Just search the Internet for them.. Petersons is also excellent.
Enjoy..
Being new to this great forum, I would like to share my new world of Underwater shots with you , Its a whole new task after years of shooting wildlife on land.. The sharks were even smiling for me! Taken with an EPL-1 set up and two strobes. I am now switching to LED, we will see how that turns out .
