Does anyone have a Canon 16-35mm 1:2.8L II USM for sale.please let me know. Send me a private message if you are selling one. If you are not I would love to know what you think of the lens.
Thank you.

Just a week too late unfortunately. I had mine for about a year and sold it last week to KEH. It was in A+ perfect condition and saw about 1500-2000 actuations. Reason I sold it .... I didn't think it was sharp enough compared to the IQ of my other L lenses and I look to purchase the 4.0 version with IS soon. I read that the 4.0 is tack sharp.

This is third party, a replacement for Canon's BG-E11.

See screen grab for Canon oem version -- for $269.95 -- from B&H, and same price from Amazon.

Thanks, I'll pass on this.

That's not too encouraging, is it? You can save some money, but at what cost?

Though this policy has been there all along, Canon was probably about 4 to 6 weeks behind in re-publicizing it if their goal was to limit gray market sales during the busy holiday shopping season.

Any recommendations for websites that display "galleries" of photos for friends and family to view?

Not for selling photos, just for others to view.

Thanks!

Google picasaweb works just fine (integrated with Google+ now I think). You can upload your albums and in the settings either make it public for anyone to see or make it private to be seen by anyone with the link. You get 15 gb for free.

I am happy to say that I have a new toy in my arsenal. I bought the Canon 7D Mark II yesterday. I used a friends a few weeks back and loved it. I am going to use it for real today at Taekwondo testing. Hopefully get some good pictures.

Have fun shooting with it. You'll get great shots of the forms in action.

Hi, all. Im new to slr photography. I used a D 70 of a friend for a while and amazed by the things which it could do. I search for a good cam to buy and came across 7D mark 11. It comes with body only. I need to decide on a lens to buy along with it. Need to choose to between a usm and stm lenses. I need a lens for day to day photos & one for portraits too. Thanks all.

Since this is your first lens purchase with a supposedly awesome body (7DII), suggest you go with the 24-105 4.0L to start with. It's a great all purpose lens and will serve you well in most situations and very sharp. Once you are broken in, you can supplement with other lenses. You'll probably find that this combination of the 7DII and the 24-105 will satisfy your needs for quite sometime.

The vest for 2 body setup goes for around 180-190 new. I picked mine up on ebay auction for $150 (new) - though pricey, well worth the convenience you get. I recently used it extensively on an europe trip for 10 days, lugging 2 systems and with little exertion. The release system is very convenient. The only reservation I have is the functionality of the support strap - where they use rings mounted to the body. I found that it was not very user friendly to switch back to the regular strap when I didn't need to use the vest. I have worked around that by purchasing some uniloop straps from op/tech and mounting a set on the camera and another on the regular camera strap thereby making it a quick release action. I have also attached another set of the uniloop strap on the cotton carrier for redundancy to latch to the camera when I am using that for added safety. The uniloop connectors are very unobtrusive and not bulky at all or get in the way and they are very strong - each rated to support up to 15 lbs. Hope this helps.

I use the Cotoncarrier vest for 2 cameras - supplemented it with some extra sets of the op/tech uni loop connectors for added security. Almost a perfect setup for all day hiking and or outdoor activity.

We flew from TN to Salt lake and did a loop of Bryce, Capital Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. A photographer's dream location - Arches! If you drive directly from Salt Lake to Arches it's about 3.5 hrs. or so and a pleasant drive. Our trip was in October and had wonderful weather.

I post very rarely but follow the discussions regularly and I must say that MT has been a tremendous source of help to many on this forum - helping and being free with his expert advice. His reply may sound curt to some but that is his way. He is right in his facts so let's just move on - no harm done.

#1 ... sharper by just a tad bit that is all, but definitely a shallower DOF.
