Just got this from Canon regarding their gray market policy.

That's not too encouraging, is it? You can save some money, but at what cost?

Though this policy has been there all along, Canon was probably about 4 to 6 weeks behind in re-publicizing it if their goal was to limit gray market sales during the busy holiday shopping season.
