Agree completely... the Df is definitely worth checking-out and comparing to the D750 and D610.
You owe it to yourself to check-out the Nikon Df. I researched this FX beauty for about 4 months, and finally decided to upgrade from my D7100. But I couldn't decide whether to buy the black or chrome version of the Df, so I ended up buying one of each on Nikonusa.com's refurbished products site during a special 10% off sale. The camera produces excellent shots and is a ton of fun to shoot... Plus, it's great using a camera that doesn't look like all the other DSLRs on the market.
You can't go wrong with a LowePro bag. Check out the Magnum 200 All Weather bag. Looks classic and has room for three or four lenses, Speedlight, plus the D610 with a medium lens.
I'd wait until it shows up on nikonusa.com's Refurbished Products site... Buy the non-VR 24-70 f/2.8 now on the Refurbished site!
Of all the lenses I use with my Nikon Df, I generally use my Nikkor 28-300 the majority of the time, mainly because it offers the greatest flexibility with excellent results. Before you buy any more Nikkor AF-S lens for your new camera, be sure to check out Nikon's refurbished gear area on nikonusa.com. Everything I've purchased on this site arrives quickly and in perfect condition, and the only thing you don't get is the gold box it was originally packed in. You will save lots of money by buying "refurbished" on Nikon's web site.
My favorite lens to use 90% of the time is my Nikkor AF-S 28-300 f/3.5-5.6. It's a very versatile lens that takes great shots. A little heavy at about 1.8 pounds and pricey, but if you can wait buy refurbished at nikonusa.com on sale and it will cost about $795.
I've purchased a ton 'o refurbished Nikon cameras and gear from nikonusa.com, and have never had a problem with them. The merchandise arrives quickly and always in excellent condition (although the gold lettering and markings on a 24-70mm f/2.8 seem a little too bronze-colored, but after saving over $550 versus a new one, how can I complain?) and post-purchase customer support is superb. Clearly a first-class operation.
Time Capsule is pretty easy to operate, backs up hourly automatically and works great. I also have a LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt 2TB, just to provide an additional safety net for my music, videos and photos. I have a MacBook Pro Retina.
I use the TC-20 III with the Nikkor 70-200 f/4 and get pretty pleasing results. The only negative is that adding the 2.6" Teleconverter to the 7" zoom creates a pretty long and heavy piece of glass. But I still can create decent hand-held images.
