I have been seeing courses now being offered on how to use a smartphone for Photography. This is what has hurt the camera companies in the beginner and compact auto camera market's. I have a Samsung s22ultra and it has a great camera, that I Hardly ever use. I have 2 real Nikon DSLR' and 10 lenses. No smartphone camera can match that equipment. I wish people would realize this and buy real cameras. But I have issues with the camera companies trying to complete with smart phones buy changing over to MirrorLess cameras. I have tried several of Nikon's modles and they all feel too compact and plasticky. I have always liked a Heavy solid camera that feels professional. I guess I'm old school, I started photography in highschool and got my first Nikon camera in 1979. I have loved photography and Nikon cameras ever since. Through the years I have done weddings and other types of professional work for friends and for clients alike. I will say a smartphone will be ok to a novice but not a person with a real camera kit. Sorry for the rant but, it's still sad to see how much the smartphone has devastated the beginner market.

I have some old photos that were set to video about 20 years ago of my sister who died of covid. I am trying to capture them with a cellphone off my computer as I pause the video at the right time. Some of them, of her youth, are particularly bad, but would be nice shots to include on a white board at her memorial. Here are several of them, is there anything I can do to make them somewhat clearer? I have Lightroom and Photoshop, but I have never used Photoshop. Is there anythee ifing I can do using Lightrooim alone?

Saturday I’m photographing a National championship race which is being held at the same time as a big yearly race. I’m guessing 4000 runners total. The lead guy gave me the settings for my camera today so it can be synced to the race directors Chronotrack and I’m to shoot in JPG with a medium file size which is fine. I’m on the finish line and all photos are loaded into the directors system so runners can find there photos based on time. Now for my question.

I’m wanting to record to my first card in the JPG format and record RAW to my second card for my use. When I choose JPG on the first card it shows I can take 9999 photos but when I add RAW to my second card it now shows both cards can only hold around 2500 photos. I’m only really want RAW for the first large group of finishers, the winners but I’m afraid I won’t have time to do setting changes once the runners start crossing the line. I’m wondering if my JPG card will keep recording or is my camera gonna stop recording anything once my RAW card is full? Any advice?
