You have an interesting sales approach. Care to elaborate?

I sell a Lightning trigger that also doubles as a motion trigger. It is by Micronova and sells for $95 for either Nikon or Canon, with cables included. They work very good on lightning but to be totally honest I have never set one up to use as a motion sensor.
I think you mis-understood. If you shoot B/W in camera then the camera takes all the color information and trashes it leaving you with a pre-cooked image. Minor editing changes may be applied. However if you shoot in color then all the color data stays intact and allows you to use curves and other tools to easily adjust the tonal values of specific colors. Of course the actual color has been desaturated but the data remains.
As an example, take a photo with sky and clouds in it. Shoot in B/W and you get a light grey sky with soft white clouds that tend to blend together. The same shot taken in color you can easily darken the blue sky and lighten the clouds giving a very dramatic effect. OK, you can do that to the B/W as well but the time and patience involved makes for premature baldness.
Always shoot in color and adjust in PP. Quick, simple and dramatic effects.
I'm interested in both and I'm just down the road from you.
It would be nice to have some idea of where you are located.
Sad to say but the wife lost her camera at the top of Machu Picchu on Oct 4. We think she lost it on the bus or most likely by skilled hands. It was in her jacket pocket with velcro. At least that is the best our memory can come up with. It is an Olympus point and shoot VR325, VR320, D725 Serial # unknown with about 100 or so photos ranging from Arequipa to Machu Picchu.
Now the camera we can live without but if there is any chance we can recover the memories it is worth the effort. She takes the photos with us in them while I tend to do the local and scenic shots. Attached are 4 photos, 2 with both of us, 1 with her holding her camera and 1 with the eagle as mentioned below. I ask hoggers to make a mental note of the crazy guy in the photos and keep an eye out for any photos with this guy and an eagle on his right arm. Yes a live eagle. Other shots might have either one of us in them.
I have registered the camera at lost cameras so all we can do now is hope.
Many thanks to all. Oh yeah, don't feel too bad. I have over 5,000 photos of the trip just none with the two of us having fun.
So you feel the halo's are acceptable? My thought is it is a good start but more work needs to be done.

Very nice!!! You didn't over do the HDR, so it looks great!!
Quick note: if you are shooting in manual mode and have taken your meter readings and set the controls then there is no reason to cover the eye piece. In manual mode the camera can't change any settings, only you can do that. (yes the meter will give what looks like) wrong readings but this does not change the settings you already set.
If shooting in any auto mode then, yes, cover the eye piece as the settings will be changed automatically by the camera.
Nice inside work, shame about the outside window light being blown out.
Sorry bout the link. At least you got it.
Jerry, I ran into this problem years ago and found a wonderful solution (for Windows) here
www.uew-sieber.de/english.html It is called USBDLM and runs as a service so it applies to everyone. It is freeware for personal use and can be installed on every computer you own to give consistent drive letter assignments. I have my photos on an external drive that I want every computer to recognize as P drive. The same applies to my external drive with music being assigned M drive. So no matter which computer I plug my photo drive into it is always listed as P drive.
You can also assign drive letter(s) for misc drives such as a drive from a friend. So you can assign letters like Q, R. S, and T to misc usb drives.
Read the instructions and you can easily create a script file, they supply a configurable template, that you can copy and paste to every one of your computers to keep it all consistent through out your network.
One caveat: if there is already a drive assigned with the required letter then it will not register and you will need to re-assign a letter to the offending drive. But this is a one time correction.
Enjoy. :)
I have many friends that, for what ever reason, always go to the middleman for purchasing goods. Sometimes they get what they want, sometimes more than they wanted and sometimes the wrong version.
Why do they not go to the manufacturer direct and get exactly what they want and get the latest version. Not to mention not paying the middleman fees. (whether that be cash or advertising jammed down their throats)
Now with regard to Malware AntiBytes (and some others) take the free copy and you can be assured that they will contact you before the expiry with a "special offer"
I also never order the boxed cd and always choose the download so I have it within minutes. If I really need the software on CD I can burn it myself and also include many other programs as well all on one cd. (or a thumb drive)
I have yet to discover the benefit of having a box. Just saying...
Didn't see UHH in the links page. But a nice site just the same. The photo page took a few extra seconds to load.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been putting up with the pain for some time now.
First entry, Desert Dance, and it was an archive as Arizona is not part of my immediate area. Delete it if you wish.
Is there a prize or just bragging rights? Where are the winners posted?
