Well worked Travesty

Hdr just makes it pop and the vignette brings it all together

So you feel the halo's are acceptable? My thought is it is a good start but more work needs to be done.

:) I get the feeling we are not all looking for the same thing in HDR..... Thanks for the comments.... This is my finished work and it will stay this way... I knew what it looked like before I posted.. I have had both praise and disgust at my HDR work on my online portfolio..This is in my style faint halo or not.... Don't get me wrong, I appreciate critique, but does not mean I will always use it...

I actually like your original photo, just add a little punch with levels or some tone adjustments .

Always remember you are the one who has to,Le he work. Critiques are a good way to learn

Thank you Joe... I do not care if someone critiques my photos.. People sometimes get upset when I argue the fact it is not what they want to see... One persons opinion does not usually sway me. If I showed the HDR photo to 100 people that have no idea what HDR is I am sure that more than half would love it.. I think knowing what HDR is sometimes makes people over analyze. I think there is an artistic place for slight halo at times..
Again this was the look I wanted for this photo.. I cannot expect everyone to like it.. Again Joe, thanks for your time and honest opinion.. I am glad you like the original.. :)

Nicely done. I like it halo and all. But your original image is, as Joe says, also very well done. Don't know what other software you have besides Photomatix but you can often avoid halos by saving the 32 bit intermediate file produced by Photomatix and processing it in another software program.

Some say that halos are the biggest drawback to using Photomatix. But everyones taste in HDR are different and some say it's not real photography. In the end it's what you like.

If you want you could post the images so others could download them and try their hand at processing them.

Thanks Gary, I only have GIMP as my PP software besides the Photomatix...Way too many mouths to feed to support my hoppy right now.... I appreciate the advice... If anyone is will I would post the original shots if someone want a go at it....

Go ahead and post so it can be downloaded by clicking the "store original" box. I'll give it a go. JPEGs don't have as much information to work with but I'll see what I can do.

Do you start with RAW images or JPEGs?
