Weather your elbow hurts from holding your camera to much or from playing sports here is a very easy remedy for tendonitis or as it is for me tennis elbow.

I play a lot of tennis and developed this tendonitis which before I started taking pictures would usually come and go . Now it's been getting worse from holding a heavy camera and lens. What to do what to do. Love both so I can't give up either.

Went to physical therapy for couple of weeks! Paid a lot of money !
(Thanks Obama) didn't work because ice is only a temporary fix and short lived.
So after the wedding shoot I did I was in agony ! So I googled and googled.
Thank you Mr google! And found this remedy. It sounds a little strange buy I can attest it WORK!

So here it is. Get a hammer small one if you have it and heat up some water
Not so hot that you burn yourself but not enough that you feel the heat.
Add a touch of oil to the end veggie or olive oil and gentle apply the hammer to the elbow continuously moving it up and down the arm.
Do this for about 10mins. A couple of times during the day for a couple of days .I had immediate relief with the first application.
Ps the guy who suggested this is a sports trainer.
I am amazed why the drs do not know these things!

Hope this helps someone who has been in pain.
Ellen

What do you do with the hot water?

You put oil on the flat head of the hammer and then rub it around on your arm for 10 minutes? Is that correct?

Is there a link for this information on the web?

You heat the water on the stove but the hammer in only the head keep it in for less than a minute . The metal will be hot do not burn yourself the oil is just so it doesn't cause friction on your skin . Then place on arm where the pain in apply pressure And move over arm . It's very easy to do.

OK, I found this video. About half way through, the guy starts using a warm ball peen hammer on his arm. Is that the technique you're talking about

In just two days of doing this I have 90 percent less pain .
I will continue for a week then start strengthening the arm.

Sometimes, but mostly pain in my shoulder. Probably not technically tendonitis, but the same treatment might work. It's worth a try. If not, I'll bang the hammer on my big toe ... that will get my mind off the pain in my shoulder.

:P
