I'm surprised you can even find a d300s. I was going to buy one when the street price was in the $1450 range, but decided to wait for the d400 which was rumored for last August. still waiting. this thread might convince me to buy the 7000. wish there were a camera store left in the state so I could get a feel for it.
I bought a magic lantern guide for my camera and it's helpful except for one thing. the index stinks. when i want a specific answer I have to wade thru the table of contents to find the general topic.
I have a d80 with operational problems that I hope to solve with a d400, but my daughter had difficulty like yours with her d70. the problem was solved with a new battery even though the camera said her battery was fully charged.
I follow the forum almost daily but rarely post because I don't have the knowledge, which I will prove with this question. what is the difference between macro and micro? I've looked at macro examples but have no experience with micro. what am I missing here?
i was a dos/windows user for 20 years. one day i asked myself why i was beating my head against a brick wall. up to the apple store i went, and came home with an imac. first thing i said was, "my god what have i done". 2 hours later i had forgotten windows ever existed. iphoto comes with it and is awesome. for more sophisticated photographic chores, i use aperture, a terrific mac program. buy a mac. you won't be sorry.
my input would be to save up for a mac. out of the box, my screen matches the monitor on my camera and prints from miller's match both. i didn't do a thing.
