Lets see what happens...I own a camera, place it upon my tripod, set the camera to "auto", and set a shutter timer to trigger the shutter in 30 seconds and just step away. Lets further assume that just as the shutter is triggered by the timer, a famous person is assassinated just as he walks by the camera and the actual crime is captured. Lets further assume that it is the only photograph of the assassination and is worth millions to the news media. So who owns the picture? I understand that this is somewhat rediculous, but illustrates the absurd result when lawyers and courts abandon simple common-sense.

Your right...Lucas is the reason they sell "warm" beer in Britain. Both refrigerators and English car electrical systems were made by Lucas. How could I ever forget?

Hope they are not "importable" to the U.S. Otherwise some fool would drive one down a LA freeway and get squished.

I believe this is a British Artillery officer's uniform from around 1815, belonging to the Royal Horse Artillery. Note the notch in upper front of the boot (classic horse/cavalry). Note the horizontal "breast plates" on front of the uniform which was classic artillery. Also, the "BEAR SKIN" hat of that period had a small brim and as such was not as high as we see them today. Hope this helps. -David

Namwife, thanks for your note. All of you involved in the restoration are to be commented. Most folks don't realize that the average age of a US Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam was 20 years old. They were promised glory, taught to fly at Uncle Sam's expense, given the keys (no keys, just a metaphor) to a fast ride and told to fly missions through enemy machine guns and rockets. There were so many 18 year old kids who reached their 19th birthday because of the incredible bravery of the Huey pilots. To each and every one....they were magnificent.

A classic example of good business...taking care of the customer. As the teenagers in the hood would say, "B&H rocks."

Great pictures of a great bird...brings back memories (24 combat air assaults). Would it have hurt if you displayed the "better unit" on her, 1st of the 7th instead of the "almost good" 1st of the 9th? Just kidding. Thanks for making my day. Dave.

The first US casualties in Vietnam occurred in July, 1959 while Eisenhower was President. JFK was elected four months after two American military advisors were killed. JFK sent special forces and other advisors to Vietnam during the early 1960's. It was the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, passed on August 7, 1964 that President Johnson began the real build-up of American forces in Vietnam. 2.1 million US forces served in Vietnam and over 58,000 were killed there. America's "combat role" ended in 1973 under President Nixon. The Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) fell too the communists in 1975.

Thank you Chuck for your service. I had six months service remaining when I returned from Vietnam so they assigned me as a burial escort officer bringing "killed in action" guys home from Oakland Mortuary to various places in Texas. So, for me, no beer, no cookouts or picnics. I spend memorial Day in cemeteries just remembering.

Thanks for your service...one Nam vet to another. The only thing missing from the picture of you and the M-14 is a bayonet.

It's all good. Whatever our personal views might be, the sound of Taps brings a tear to every Veteran and a lump in our throat. We all remember, the good and the bad. May all who died in the service of America rest in peace.
