Why yes, it's half past 120MPH!

(This is an early B-Day gift from my better half. What a cool surprise! It's a German-made watch with a face that's a replica of the speedometer on my 67 Jag E-Type).

Unusual looking watch.
When you drive your E-Type, does the match the speed of the car?

Great gift. Let's hope its longevity surpasses that of typical Smith instruments.

Excellent! If I still had my 1967 XKE, I'd buy one.

"...get rid of it"

Oh, that sounds so harsh. : )

I rebuilt the engine and gearbox and replaced lots of parts. Then I removed all the paint and painted it British Racing Green. Yes, I could have kept it, but it would continue to require increasingly expensive parts. I had an MG TD and TC at the time, and my regular car needed replacement. So, I eventually sold those three and bought a Volvo sedan. I enjoyed the cars I had, and I let someone else have the chance to enjoy them.

I had a 67 E-Type Coupe in High School and sold it in 72 when I joined the USAF. I wish I'd never sold it - it was a lovely car. In 1980 I managed to acquire a 67 E-Type roadster which I still own.
