Just a small demonstration to show how the apparent curvature of the horizon is simply controlled by tilting the camera. Tilt the camera downwards & the horizon line curves upwards (convex). Tilt it up & the horizon line curves downwards (concave). Hold the camera level for a straight horizon. Please feel free to download.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

Out of Africa and on to one of my favorite destinations, Italia. There are so many fascinating cities/villages, but Montepulciano was loaded with photo ops. Just a few...

Took a couple photos as the blooms developed. (Note: not the same blossom, but definitely the same tree)

I used some of the techniques from this link. http://digitalphotobuzz.com/using-lightroom-brushes-to-soften-skin
What do you think?

I have looked at both pictures and sorry, but the softened skin one to me looks too doll like. The eyebrows have faded and there is no character tin the face. On the other hand the original picture to me is great, that is how she is, a very beautiful young lady who needs no help from having skin softening done, ther is much more texture to her skin. For this picture it is a

We had a lovely but long drive from Auckland to New Plymouth. There were lots of photo ops along the way, but no one was willing to stop for me. I found quite a few once we got to New Plymouth, including some that are rather amusing. Hope you enjoy these.

The bikes could be anywhere. I just liked the way they were arranged and the way the light was hitting them.

I've never seen anything like the second shot. It needs no explanation.

In the photo titled "Looking Downstream" a man and his son had just finished several hours worth of rock stacking. When the tide comes back in, it will flood this stream and ruin his efforts. He didn't seem to care.

Very good set Vicki, I like the last one, good thing you were there before the tide came in.

I walk by this palm every day with my dog, and suddenly there is a lot of activity going on. I saw the Red Bellied Woodpecker pair mating yesterday and of course did not have my camera, went by this morning and watched as the nest is being readied.

Went outside this morning to fill all the feeders. It was pretty early. As I was walking across the yard I saw this guy laying in the grass. He was very cold and didn't look to good. He has one eye missing. Took him in the house to get warm. Went back out and filled the feeders. When I got back in the house he was sitting with the cat.:) And me like a dummy didn't take any pictures.:( As soon as I sat down, he flew over to my shoulder.:) Got him to eat some seed and use an eye dropper to give him a drink. Put him back outside this afternoon. Now if he is around, he flies to my shoulder.:):)

What a great story Erv, just shows what a bit of kindness can do.
