I have decided to cut ties with ON1. I have been a customer since 2014, but their business model (and web site) have become so confusing that I can no longer navigate my account settings, find my products, licenses and I now refuse to keep funding them through their constant "upgrades" and product changes.

The final straw came from an email (two, actually) I received informing me that my subscription auto-renewal had failed. First, I didn't even know I had a subscription, much less that it was set to auto-renew (at $129.99!) but when I went online to find it and update it, the web site can't find my information. What's worse, I can't update my payment information, and worse yet, I can't log out, despite clicking and acknowledging the log off button multiple times.

ON1 appears to have me registered with two different email accounts, even though years ago I contacted them to make sure everything was coalesced into a single account. I have multiple ON1 products, yet I am confused as to whether I am entitled to their latest offering, or not. The product catalog continues to evolve and confuse.

This has turned into a money sink for me. I no longer wish to use the ON1 products, as I have no idea what they are, what the current versions are, and what they do. I know some people complain about Adobe's CC licensing and cost model, but at least I know what products I have, they are updated through Adobe's updater program, and I know what they do.

Bye-bye, ON1. It was fun while it lasted.

If you're an ON1 customer, feel free to disagree. Or not.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me. I will be cutting ties when 2023 Camera Raw premieres.

I've had a theory for a while that Canon will create new mirrorless product tiers based on including this feature. With this morning's R7 / R10 announcements, we see maybe this theory in practice. In the upper tier EOS R7 (mirrorless evolution of the EOS 7D-series bodies), we see 32MP, 15 fps mechanical and 30 fps electronic, 2 card slots, and all the technology and weather resistance features of a premier sports / wildlife body with a cropped sensor.

In the EOS R10, we see a lot of advanced technology, including: 24MP, 15 fps mechanical and 23 fps electronic, 1 card slots, Eye-tracking AF. But, in this lighter weight and lower-priced modern technology marvel, we see the IBIS missing along with the mirror.

We saw something similar in Nikon's mirrorless cropped Z50, and the Z fc too. Use IS / VR lenses and you won't miss the camera's missing IBIS. But, if you're looking to consolidate all your lenses, including the legacy lenses back to the film-era, onto a single digital platform, this missing IBIS may remove some of the camera models from consideration.

These cameras from Canon and Nikon differ from Sony's approach where IBIS is a standard feature in all the mirrorless bodies, cropped and full-frame.

I suspect that it's primarily a a rejection due to not being able to use PP.

Impossible to say without seeing or trying the link they sent to you. I will say that I have purchased refurbished items direct from Nikon and each time the item was in excellent condition and truly like new. Beware of non-Nikon refurbishments - they may or may not be as represented.

headed off, next week, to a McDonald Wildlife Photography TX bird shoot at Laguna Seca and Santa Clara ranches; anyone been one a Mcdonald shoot, or at either location for shooting? would like to hear comments and suggestions

Been to both locations several times, though not with the Mcdonalds'. You're in for some excellent photo opportunities.

Love RRS products. Excellent quality, second to none. Plus tight lens collar & tripod phot equals less blurry photos.

Go to South Texas. Find some roadkill and place it in a good location. Not on the road. Better yet, buy some chicken halves and you're in business.

I do not experience the download delay; however, I often get the message that I'm using an older version of a Topaz product when I've previously downloaded the latest upgrade available. So far, I've simply disregarded the message and used what is, apparently, an older product. I emailed Topaz originally regarding this problem but never received a response.
