For the older people carrying a D810 with a couple of lenses on vacation is almost not possible, too heavy. I, for ones, almost ruined my shoulder carrying. Nikon D3x with only One 28-300 lens for 3 weeks on vacation.
The size and weight of the mirrorless is a huge plus fir many people, even professionals. I gave met a photojournalist who makes his leaving by reporting from “hot” areas of the world, where many times people with cameras are not welcome. He swears by a mirrorless.
So, yes the manufacturers are there for the profits, and they should be, and no one banded creations and/or adaption.

I use my F lenses on Z7. The quality is fine, but with the adapter it is heavy and uncomfortable. The 24-120 lens is almost impossible to use handheld.
Sorry I got the Z. The lenses for them are untouchable for a non-professional.
Our media is the worst enemy of the country. Anything for a catchy headline. They are nothing, but junkies, and very biased journalists. Somebody needs this reporting.

Tamron 18-200 for A6000. I had the 55-200 but Tamron is way better. Small, light, sharp, inexpansuve

The best way, I found, it is to ask people to close their eyes and open them on a count of 3. The wait for one more count and take the photo. Almost never failed
I’am 71+ and have the same problem. I was using Nikon D750. After researching many options, I opted for a Nikon Z7. It is the best decision I ewer made. Light, versatile, top quality. I now carry a light backpack and two lenses besides the 24-70 on the camera. The quality of my photos increased. This camera is a pure pleasure to shoot with!
