Love the foreground, and the cattails breaking the horizon line. Brrr, great winter feel! Very good!

I thought that sounded like a great contender for a GAS attack. But when I got to "$11,000" I had to stop reading.
[going to take an aspirin and lie down in a dark room now]

That sounds like a worthwhile project, both from the technical learning experience and for preserving a record of the art. Good for you! This one's really cool! Looking forward to seeing more.

I'm not a truck person, so what immediately intrigued me is the construction of the building. Diagonal boards on the outside, well-matched at the corners. Very attractive. And horizontal boards on the inside, giving sturdiness and another layer of protection from the wind. Then covered with tin (later?). Would love to know what their reasoning was. Plus, a conduit with electric wires for a light. This was probably a fine machine shed in its day.

This is a delightful story-telling series, jederick!! Wonderful!

My very subjective two cents: I like the first one much better, although I'd add a little more space on the bottom, as it strikes me as a little "busy" or heavy on the bottom. Definitely love the shadow on the white building!

Personally I'd custom frame it. The problem with framing anything as multiples is that, artistically, each picture should be complete enough to stand on it's own. That's hard to achieve. Here, I see the white building with it's interesting shadow as being able to stand on it's own, and also the brick center building. But the right side, with two buildings, three vehicles and a prominent light pole, is kind of a mishmash. It's more attractive and visually understandable as a whole.

Aww, what a treat to see year round! Here in the midwest they're a mixed blessing. Pretty, of course, but they hide in the cornfields so we hardly ever see them, and they knock down great swaths of corn for bedding areas, then eat some of the rest. So they're more of a pest. Wish I could send you a few truckloads, haha.

2nd comment: I think you are going for the "art" component, and you certainly achieved it with the blur and added texture. But I do like the added sense of space in abc1234's second example. Maybe the tree's solitariness could be emphasized with more of your textured space added to the right and bottom. Note: I don't say it could be "better", because it's already a wonderful artistic piece!

Those really are incredibly beautiful animals!!!

That said, though, these kinds of "designer" mutts are a bad idea, because there's no way of predicting what their personalities will turn out to be. At least with a purebred there's a history you can sort of depend on.

I read that the guy who bred the first labradoodle (labrador and standard poodle), some 30 years ago, now says he created a monster and regrets it. It's subject to all the health problems of both breeds, and the personality isn't predictable. Further, since it became such a fad, backyard breeders produce tons of them strictly for the money and have no desire (or understanding) to use healthy parents. Very sad.

Excellent birds, Joe!! I'm not as brave as you; I've been taking all my shots through a window, haha.
