I do not tip the tour leader, ever. I have never been asked to either. I have been asked to contribute to tips for drivers and luggage handlers, which I contribute to. However, I think the tour/workshop operators should include the tips in the cost of the trip and handle it rather than asking us for it. I recently went on a Strabo tour and the pre-trip materials said that we should plan on $300-400 for our spending money for shopping, etc. They said to plan for $3-$4 tips in restaurants. Then the first night that we arrived we were told to plan on $175 for tips for the driver, assistant and a guide. Then during the trip, they keep on collecting $10 tips for staff at the hotels. We were up to $225 in tips. We all had to make additional trips to the ATMs just to cover the tips. I suggested that they just raise the cost of the trip by $225 and they take care of the tips.

I have a 20TB drive as my working drive, I back that up every night to two 20 TB drives. I have a third 20 TB drive in a safe deposit box that I pick up and backup periodically and return to the safe deposit box. I also back the 20 TB working drive to the cloud.

Thank you all for your comments. I contacted Datacolor that provided information on how to do a correct calibration for the monitor. I had to reset the monitor to the default settings and then go through a calibration. The calibration performed excellently. I am keeping the monitor!!!

I purchased a used 2019 BenQ SW2700PT monitor and have had problems trying to calibrate it. The BenQ Pallete Master Elements software is incompatible with these monitors manufactured prior to 2020. BenQ does not have a workaround or another software that will work with the monitor. I use a SpyderXElite to calibrate my MacBook Pro M2, but it does not work on the BenQ either as I cannot get the brightness high enough on the monitor for the calibrator to work -- the calibration always fails.
Have any of you run into this problem? If so how did you address it. I am thinking I am going to have to take the monitor to the Salvation Army and just stick with my MacBook Pro for editing photos. thank you!

Thanks for the honest comment. I too like Harold’s books and have learned a lot about flower photography from them. I was very excited to have the opportunity to learn from himself in person at the out of Chicago at the Chicago botanic garden conference. Boy was I disappointed! He met us at a location in the garden, told us about the garden and then told us to go photograph. I never saw him again. He sat in the garden until the session was over. I learned nothing from him. I felt like he was phoning it in based on his reputation. I experienced that in two sessions and then found other sessions to attend that were more informative, interactive with the instructor, and more enriching.

This may have been addressed before, but I am going to raise it because I value your opinions. We will be going on a Mediterranean cruise this summer. We will be in Europe for three weeks. I have a Z6ii and a D7500. I am going back and forth about the camera gear to take. I am leaning toward the Z6ii and Z24-70 f2.8. I think it will be a good walkabout lens. I also have the DX 16-80, 70-300, 70-200 as well as wide angle and prime lenses. I could bring the D7500 and the 70-300, but I hesitate to go walking around with both cameras and lenses as it is a lot to carry around. I have been looking at the evaluations of the 28-300 lens, but the reviews are mixed. From your experience, do you think the 24-70mm lens will cover most situations or have you used the 28-300mm lens and what is your assessment about it. Thank you so much!

I use a polarizer with falls colors. I like the result. I never use an ND filter for fall colors unless I am shooting rivers and waterfalls in the fall.
