You could still experience Chromatic aberration even with a Canon lens.

It looks like Chromatic aberration to me. I preprocess with Lightroom Classic and it has lens specific software to correct this. I am not a Photoshop expert and I would be shocked if this capability was not available in PS as well.

As well as narrow gauge steam I'm quite happy to enjoy big steam. These were shot on a two day photographers charter by Lerro Productions on the Grand Canyon railway in Arizona. Pre dawn to post sunset. We used two different loco's, day two with a double header. The loco's are oil fired using used cooking oil and smell like McDonald's! For anyone who is interested, or cares, I shoot RAW and PP in Lightroom.

A consolidation and a mikado. Just beautiful.

I use Costco. I am very happy with the results.

I don't believe that Elements supports RAW. I ended up needing to subscribe to Adobe for Lightroom and Photoshop since the ability to process RAW was a class requirement.

I bring in all pictures via Lightroom from RAW files on my camera. The import function allows me to look at each picture and select what I want to actually keep. This help weed out a lot of so-so pictures and saves disk space. There are basic edit in LR. For more advanced editing pictures I use the "edit in" feature to send the picture to Photoshop. When you save in Photoshop it places an image back into LR in a .TIFF format. All LR edits are non-destructive and the cataloging feature is a big plus.

I think you will find that even the Raspberry Pi 4 lacks the power you need for photo editing. It is a lot more powerful than the Pi3, but not for memory/processor intensive tasks, even under a unix operating system.

Good advice! Raw, Lightroom and Photoshop require a fair amount of horsepower. There are some very nice tools for working with JPG that do not require that power.

And typically the SSD is in a performance RAID with the regular disk.

Wow! Just spectacular. I am a Colorado native and so jealous that you have opportunities like this. Beautiful.

As someone who started with a 1050s vintage Rolleiflex and a hand held Weston light meter, I agree. It is easy to forget the fundamentals with to many bells and whistles. That said, understanding the added functionality that the DSLR brings to the party has its advantages as well.

I have to tell you that this surgery (one eye one week, one eye the next week) was the easiest and most dramatic operation I have undergone. I did not realize the yellow haze that the cataracts were causing until they were removed. The surgery also eliminated the halos that I was seeing around light sources at night. Plus, the replacement lens gave me 20/20 vision that I had not experienced in 53 years (still need readers since I opted for lenses to correct myopia in both eyes). I had this surgery three years ago and my vision is still perfect. I know that won't last forever, but what a treat.

I hope that your experience is similar and that you are able to see well and feel comfortable with your photographic endeavors.

Buy a camera that you will spend some time growing into; not a camera that you will soon grow out of.
Like a house, buy up.

Excellent advice!
