As well as narrow gauge steam I'm quite happy to enjoy big steam. These were shot on a two day photographers charter by Lerro Productions on the Grand Canyon railway in Arizona. Pre dawn to post sunset. We used two different loco's, day two with a double header. The loco's are oil fired using used cooking oil and smell like McDonald's! For anyone who is interested, or cares, I shoot RAW and PP in Lightroom.

That is way cool. Really good photographs. Not ones the typical passengers would get to take.

I've done that trip twice to date. Once with the diesel locomotive and the last one, Mar. of 2020, with the steam locomotive, booked specifically for that reason. I did find out they use a diesel with it, as there are a few places along the route that the grade is just a bit much for the steam locomotive we had that day.

It's definitely a fun time and I'm looking forward to doing the trip again in the future.

I’m not overly enthused with trains, but do love the last one.

A magnificent set! (Is that fire under the front of the engine in #1?)
