Well, pretty much all of today's DSLR's and MILC's use CMOS sensors and have for many years. There is no Canon R80 but there is an R8. If you like your SL2's size, you may like the R50, which is the RF replacement for the M50. If you already have a 6D mk II, you already have a good Canon FF camera. Do you believe an MILC will allow you to get better images?
My daily shooters are a Canon R5 and R7. If you aren't interested in a camera like the R5, which is an excellent camera, and aren't interested in a crop sensor like the R7, the new R8 will do everything you are looking for. By the way, I use pretty much all adapted EF lenses on my R series camera bodies and they work great. Haven't had a single problem.

thanks for your advice, particularly about the adapted EF lenses on the R series camera bodies. I have several EFers, in addition to only two for the 6D MK2 so that's one question I feel was well answered. About the camera body - I like the SL2 and when I travel it's a lot easier to carry and has been a good producer using my lenses. The question was and is ... looking for a camera body that's smaller and lighter than the 6D and you are right about it ... it has proven to be a good camera. I'm a sucker for taking photos in natural light indoors. The viewfinder on a mirrorless viewfinder doesn't bother me at all. I appreciate and value you opinion.
