Adorama, B&H and Nikon service problems

Again I am on the phone trying to order a remote release for the Nikon D850 (WR-A10). So far I have talked to Nikon, Adorama and B&H. Adorama says it is out of production. Nikon and B&H won't send it to me general delivery. Adorama will but is unable to get the part from Nikon. B&H has one in stock their manager says the shipping department can't ship to general delivery. How clueless can you get? How can a person do business with these clueless people? I have been trying to buy the WR-A10 now for well over a year.

I went straight to the Nikon website and could put the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter (product num 27103) in my cart and got to the point of paying with no advice it was out of stock or any delay.

I am far from my home address and have no where else to send it.
B&H has just called me back . After speaking with their manager he made it clear he would rather not make a sale and make his customers angry than send to general delivery.

I usually have stuff like that sent to the UPS store or something similar and they sign for it if necessary. B and H and Adorama do it all the time.

I imagine they have their reasons.
Does General Delivery lack traceability?
Maybe they were burned too many times?

No problem with general delivery they have tracking and will hold an item for thirty days nbefore returning it. If for some reason I don't pick it up I can send in a forwarding address. I have picked up items at UPS before but I have to know where an office is. so I have to go see where and how to do it when in strange places.

I asked them but they don't know the reason. They said that it is because items are returned but of course this is nonsense. They already have their money and as I have already explained it can be forwarded from general delivery even to another general delivery address.

Their businesses seem to be doing pretty well shipping to real addresses. Sometimes if your needs fall outside the norms for these large businesses, it's best to look for a mom & pop shop. Maybe eBay?

If you pay by credit card, they don't really have their money. People dispute the charges when things don't work out the way they think they should.

I would think if you have a method to locate the local post office and post this, you can just as easily find a UPS of FedX office and have it shipped there for pickup. Easy answer to your problem if you want the item. Alternately, you can waste time arguing with every vendor... I understand your irritation, but that’s the answer to your problem.
