Ah, the peaceful fifties...three years of war in Korea, the slaughter of nuns and the French debacle at Dien Bien Phou in Vietnam, military build-up with NATO, the start of the "Cold War" with the USSR, and ducking under desks preparing for nuclear detonations... yeah, that would be fun to live through again.
I am not an expert on fiscal matters so my opinion may be naive: my understanding is that a person or a country is not "broke" if he, she or it has available credit. The United States still has a lot of credit available, hence it ain't broke!
I came across an interesting comment a couple of weeks ago on the transmissibility of this virus and the likelihood of being infected by it. Apparently there are three factors that determine whether exposure to the virus results in just some antibodies being produced or serious infection and death: a) density, b) distance and c) time. Concentration of the virus must be high enough to overcome one's immune system which normally can handle a certain amount of exposure to viruses.
a) If you are in a car or airplane, travelling for several hours with someone who has become ill with Covid 19 and the windows are closed, the concentration of virus in the airspace around you will become high enough that transmission to you becomes inescapable. The same is true if you're stuck in an office, a room or even a small house or apartment with one or more Covid-infected persons for more than a short time.
b) Similarly if you are facing someone, say two to twenty feet away with your mouth and eyes wide open and someone infected and maskless sneezes directly at you, you are likely to catch some droplets with a high enough concentration of the virus in that short time to make you sick too. What happens to you then depends on the strength of your own immune system.
c) On the other hand, if walking down the street or along the aisle of a Wal-Mart store (with its large volume of moving air) you pass close by someone already infected, the brief time of exposure will likely not provide a high enough concentration of the virus to harm you. The same is true walking on the beach or in a park. Even a slight breeze will reduce any exposure time or concentration below danger level. The ludicrous sight of several police officers standing maskless within two feet of each other while arresting an unmasked surfer (who had been alone on the ocean!) for defying the stay-at-home orders testifies to the idiocy and overreach of some authoritarians and some hypocritical (or doltish?) cops.

My PREMISE is that I am UPSET - by conflicting official information about the deaths attributed to Covid-19, conflicting official information about from constantly disproved "models" which are being used to destroy the economy of our country, conflicting official proclamations as to the best way out of the crisis. Why do you disagree that I'm upset?

I am not disputing the number of deaths counted, but if 80-plus thousands have died from Covid-19, that means there are NO DEATHS AT ALL so far this year from hypertension, heart disease, cancer and fifteen or more other deadly diseases that have afflicted our country in the same time period regularly over the last five years. Have we seen a miracle?

Hears what upsets me about this whole thing: we are constantly bombarded by news broadcasters and medical "experts" who stentoriously proclaim we are in the midst of the apocalypse with thousands upon thousands of Covid-19 deaths, yet the CDC's own recently released records seem to put to the lie such fear-mongering.

The CDC website says the average US death totals since 2015 from all causes has remained unchanged so far in 2020. That means the huge numbers of reported COVID-19 deaths either never happened or they were deaths from other causes mislabeled as COVID-19.

In New York, the 86%. of those who allegedly died of COVID-19, had other conditions that could have been the cause of death. In my own history, sand boxes were considered a primary vector for polio contagion. My mother (a teacher) ran a summer camp some 70 miles away from Montreal out in the country. She kept the camp operating for a couple of extra months and kept me and other children whose parents so desired well away from the polio hotspots. That was in 1945 and 1946. She herself returned to the classroom to provide for attending students while I remained at camp.

The pervasive, insidious and deliberate mis-education of the American people from Kindergarten to PhD-level by socialist-leaning educators and the mainstream media since the late 1960s has reached the tipping point after which there can be no recovery short of an unlikely violent civil war. Without the Electoral College, once fifty-one per cent of the voters are socialists, the Constitution will be quickly, officially, gutted, and much of our freedom lost.
