I visited a firm doing dye transfer back in the day and I was impressed with the handwork that was needed to adjust the transfer to assure perfect registration. The owner said that the process was becoming obsolete when he used up the last of the Dupont stock as they were not continuing the line. What you are doing sounds interesting. Good luck

You can use a program on your computer to connect directly to the computer with a cable. I am using "Control My Nikon" with my Nikon D300. Works fine. There should be one for Cannon. Search the internet for suggestions.

I had costco digitize all the film I had.They put it on a DVD and I made copies for all the kids. Now everyone can laugh and enjoy.

The yellow finch was captured thru a kitchen window overlooking a planter box. I used Topaz AI to sharpen the image.

I think political statements should be kept out of this forum. As far as I know the image on the wall has no relation to whether the photographer was a Republican, Democrat, or Alien from the planet Zeus. If you like the picture that is all that matters.

At my senior age, if my wife or I can't find a use for it, clothes, toys, old slides, old photos, etc we look at it, thank it for the service it gave us, and pass it on. I keep looking at my wife looking at me and wondering what she is thinking.

I am using the Arca-Swiss style of mount. I use some of the knockoffs and found them adequate for my equipment. I found the knockoffs well made and worked interchangeability. However, buyer beware, you generally get what you pay for.

I found the program Artweaver free was easier to use than PS. I am drawing on jpegs and Artweaver allows me to draw balloons, leading arrows from all direction and text. After working on the image I flatten the layers and save as. The controls are very similar to PS. If you want to try something different, I would recommend Artweaver (a free program).

I have a number of images that were digitized from old slides of the family. I would like to add names of individuals on the images with arrows pointing to the individual. Any suggestions as how to add them in PS or a free program that I could use to add the names.

Have you considered using a cable to transfer the images and leaving the card in the camera until you verify that the images were transferred?

Don't feel bad' I rescued a loving cat, they told me. She still hasn't come out from under the bed. Oh yes, why this comment . Took her to the vet for a checkup and got a $1000 bill for dental work. Now my wife won't let me out of the house without a minder.
