Guess I am a little off with my thinking. I go to movies for the entertainment value knowing it is fantasy and don’t expect everything to be accurate as though it was a documentary. Along with that I am able to just sit back and enjoy. How many people like Star Wars…not a lot of realism there but fun to watch. But to each their own.

I have the same issue. One of my favorite road trips is to visit my kids in west Montana. I prefer the road going through Jackson/Wisdom because there is usually more wildlife through that valley and over the mountain, the green farmland is also very picturesque. but the road is very narrow and the shoulder is very steep right off the pavement with nowhere to pull off. It is even worse when I take our RV, so I end up missing a lot of opportunities. I always keep my camera at hands reach but very seldom in an area where I can pull over. Wish I had a good answer for you. When I do find a place to pull over I will just get out and walk a ways to try and find something. Good luck, hoping someone on here might have a better solution.

I have been starting to learn and practice focus stacking, mostly in house objects and will start this week with stars. I have a Canon 80D, 100-400 II, 1.4X converter. Would like to take Saturn and Jupiter and wondering if this combination would work. Yeah I know the 1.4X might be a killer for for this, but is it possible to crop and get Saturn's rings with this combination? Definitely not the best equipment for this but it is what I have to work with. I also have a 2X but not thinking it will work, poor for low light and IQ degrades. I also believe I have a nice dark place to set up the tripod. Any advice on settings to start with and I can go out, practice, and narrow it down from there.

Thanks in advance

While I agree we should and need to take care of people with special needs, it is becoming too easy to get put on the SS payroll. My step son is a full blown drug adict, in his late 20’s and never worked a day in his life. He went Dr shopping and found 2 Dr’s that would sign off that he has a mental disorder and is now collecting over $1000 a month SSI. And his medical is now all paid for. Although there are many reasons that SS is being depleted. This is just an example of one form of abuse. I believe we should try and get back to it’s original intent. But I know that will never happen.

If you have a Bass Pro, Scheels, Spotsmans Warehouse around you can try them out. Employees are generally very knowledgeable and can help you a lot. Just beware when you go above about 10x they become more difficult to control. Last year I picked up a pair of Vortex 10x50 for a little over 600 and love them. Buts it’s what ever fits your needs and feels comfortable to you.

I would guess if you purchased an LED flash you would have the needed information to make adjustments. The problem might come up when you are somewhere that is using LED lighting and you have no idea what lighting range they are. Might take some experimenting to see just how much difference it makes.

Being that I am still trying to improve myself to an amateur level I can't say much about the exposure except maybe trying to set the exposure for the snow and using a flash for fill light on her. I would also like to hear suggestions for this. The only thing I know for sure is it looks like you are having fun :)
