Photography from a bicycle or motorcycle

A not uncommon thing for me is to see a nice shot while driving, but there is no safe and convenient place to pull off. I wished I was in a motorbike and could pull off onto whatever meager strip of shoulder the road might offer me. Has any tried photography from a bicycle, motorbike or Vespa motor-scooter?

When I shoot in Loxahatchee National Reserve, I use my mountain bike. I use a cotton carrier to hold my Sony a9 and 200-600 mm lens. I can ride the bike and have the camera attached to my chest. I can cover much more ground than I could on foot. This is the only time I use my bike for photography.

When I've been the passenger on my Dad's Norton motorbike, yes.
I've never been the driver on a motorbike or scooter, but considering the speed these things go, you'd be an idiot to even consider trying it.
Not even from my bicycle would I consider taking photos without stopping first.
It's not only your own life you take into your hands, but those of fellow road-users as well. And with the luck of some, there would probably be a cop nearby to hand you a nice early Christmas present....

I YOU bothered to read the original post closely, you would see the only question - "Has any tried photography from a bicycle, motorbike or Vespa motor-scooter?" For my reply, I gave the OP the benefit of the doubt and assumed he meant what he wrote.

My interpretation of the last sentence: I'm sitting on a moving bicycle, motorbike or Vespa motor-scooter and want to take a photo while still sitting on that moving thing...

I rode motorcycles for many years. I made two trips from Connecticut to California, many trips all over New England. I always had my camera with me. I tell you, you see so much more on a motorcycle than in a cage (car😂). Yes you can find a lot more places to pull over safely

Funny, I inferred while parked. Many times one can pull over much easier on a bike than in a car.
And how would one use two hands on a camera while the bike is moving? Or take time for a composition?
You inferred "while moving", I didn't.

I too often experience this dilemma. Especially if my wife is driving and I ask her to pull over to capture a shot. I located a window clamp. Do not have a heavy camera and lens set-up. I also have a wrist strap on my camera for safe keeping.
I’m not sure if this will suit your purpose.

I think if you are on a bike you are a 'vehicle' and would obey traffic rules including no distracted driving. When you get off and walk the bike you are a 'pedestrian' and could do anything anyone walking could do. I like the idea of twin baskets on a bike or Ebike to carry photo gear. Let us know how it works out.

I think it means, "...could pull off onto whatever meager strip of shoulder the road might offer me." In a car there might be no place to legally park. On a bike you are not really allowed to ride on the sidewalk, but you can lock up anywhere and take a short stroll. Seems like a good idea.

I've done it on occasion, but usually with a cellphone, or sometimes with a bridge camera. Some carefully pack a small-ish camera in a saddle bag on a motocycle or bike, but the hassle of getting off, digging into the carrier adn pulling out the camera is a big deterrent for me. The cell is in my pocket.
