I have used University Products, Gaylord, and Print File. I buy most of my Print File plastic pages from Roberts Camera. For specialty products, binders, etc. I use University Products.

"Run around from Adobe?" I don't get it. I have been using Adobe for years and have the current subscription. I have seldom had a problem and any problem I might have had was solved quickly and easily using their "chat" format. Five stars for Adobe.

When I scan old photos I keep the white edge and use this to set the white balance in Photoshop. It is amazing how it will make the old photos look much better. I keep the border when printing just to maintain the old look. Not sure why, it is just the way I like to look at it. Speaking of dates - the date is the date of processing and is often quite different from the date the photo was taken. Remember film in the camera at Christmas with exposures remaining and then you get it out for summer vacation to shoot up the remainder of the film?

I don't get it. What seems to be the problem. I think the instructions are pretty explicit. Leave your camera at home and enjoy the wedding. As part of the family the wedding is not for taking photographs it is for enjoying the moment and the day and all the folks who are there. Relax and have fun. No one cares about what photos you might take at the wedding.

The only time I think about crop factor/focal length is when I buy a lens. It helps me put the lens in the proper gamut that I was used to in 35 mm. I wind up with a wide angle zoom, a mid range zoom, and a telephoto zoom. Once the lens is purchased I just use it and forget about all the rest.

On photo shoots I use Hoodman frames that have flip up lenses so I shoot with the lens flipped up and flip it down when I have to view info on the camera - works well for me. I am not even sure they sell them anymore.

When traveling light, which is more often than in the past, for general shooting I use a 24 mm pancake lens (eq. to 35mm) on an SL1 Canon body. I find two advantages - number 1 being the low weight and compact size, number 2 is that it often makes me stop and think and move around more before I take the shot. More like I behaved in the film days. I use zooms, and a Lumix G9, when I am "on a photographic mission" but tend to get a little sloppy. With digital it is so easy to adjust, shoot; adjust, shoot; adjust, shoot... and, I have to admit, fun. The post processing becomes more of a chore because of all of the images to evaluate, but, Hey!, I'm retired and I have the time.

I shoot with Canon gear and have for years. I was talking to an Olympus rep a while back and he said, "Truth to tell, you can't buy a bad camera today." I think he is right. What we really need is good photographers behind the camera - whatever brand.

I live in the area and use them all the time for both new and used equipment. They know their business, they are easy to deal with, and they are a friendly bunch of people. Sometimes I just go into the store and hang out, and if it is slow talk photography with some of the staff. When I do this I usually find something I cannot live without.

You must calibrate your monitor first and then calibrate your printer for each type of paper you use. I use the Color Munki system and it works well. I have two different printers, one a 10 ink (pigment), the other a 5 ink (dye) machine. Both match the monitor well but not perfectly - and they never will match perfectly because they are different color systems with different gamuts. The prints from both printers are satisfactory but they do not match perfectly, and they never will, because they use different colorants and have different gamuts. The goal is to get prints that mimic closely what you see on the monitor and that satisfy your requirements.

Weary from lugging around my Canon 5Ds on hot summer days - I shoot a lot of antique tractor shows - and I have to admit I am not young anymore so opted for a Lumix G9. Close to 50% weight savings, and I can get everything in my shoulder bag with room to spare. Oh, did I mention that the Lumix G9 delivers high quality images? I am a very happy mirror-less photog.
