I want to digitize older photos. I have checked the Search folder but there are no current posts. What is the current recommendation for a scanner? Most efficient method? Thank you in advance.

If the photos fit on a typical flat bed scanner (8x10 and smaller) then it's easiest to use a flat bed scanner. Epson make a number of good models.
Copying with a camera can be faster than scanning but lighting can be a problem.

Scanners also have software to deal with imperfections in the media.

Yep. Flat bed scanner. The EPSON V600 is a good one to look at. Check with B&H.

I'm using a Epson V600 for just that, no problems, just a boring job, comes with software and works with PSP.

If all you are doing are prints, try this one for speed:

The method I have been using if photo is good condition and color is good (if color) flatbed scanner, photo not in good condition taking raw photos and editing gives a little more control especially if color. Charles

I doubt that because the scanner can produce 16 bit TIFF. Except for some camera like the new Fuji GFX they are only 14 bit RAW the most.

There appear to be quite a few articles documenting that the Epson V600 is not compatible with Windows 10. Some of the B&H reviews also cite this as the reason for giving it a single star.

I have a V600 and it works fine with W10.
