I have an Epson printer and just upgraded to Sierra. No problems printing. Epson frequently upgrades software for printers.

Sometimes I have the same problem when using my DSLR and use a luggage trolley with my camera bag. For times I really have to carry the bag or want to travel with less weight and don't have my husband nearby to carry my equipment, I use a Sony a6000 that I purchased with two kit lenses a couple of years ago. Since then I have added a macro lens. This combination is very light weight even for a 78 year old female with a pacemaker and will fit in pockets of a travel vest. You can also use your Nikon lenses with an adapter. This set up requires manual focusing. I especially like that the camera has a viewfinder as well as a tilting LCD screen.

Gold Canyon is in Pinal county after you go through Apache Junction. The Riparian Reserve is closer. It is South of Route 60 in Gilbert. There is handicap parking. If you don't find any parking you can park at the Gilbert public library which is next to the water reserve.

You said you don't drive much so I wondered if the Riparian Reserve in Gilbert would be too far for You. It is near Guadeloupe and I think Higley Rd in Gilbert. Depending on the season there are many smaller birds and a variety of water fowl. There are a number of benches to sit on along the trails. The trails are wide and even. I sometimes use a luggage trolley to hold my camera bag and have no trouble walking with it.

The D810 can be set so which ever card you want is the primary card. The function of each card can be set to do what you wish it to do. If you want it to back up set it to back up. I set primary card to save raw and secondary card to save jpeg.

There is a campground on the American side about halfway across Grand Island, NY but I do not know if it is open year round. It is not far from the Falls.
There has been some road construction on the American side as you get near the Falls.

There is plenty to see on either side. On the American side from Goat Island you can get right up next to the Falls. There are rapids and rainbows. Some of the site seeing opportunities may be closed this time of year. The Maid of the Mist is in storage for the winter. This time of year it is possible to get snowfall. The parks on both sides of the falls offer many photo opportunities when the trees are snow covered. This year has been very warm and I am hoping there will not be any snow for a while but some mornings we have had frost. I am about 45 minutes from the falls but worked for several years in Niagara Falls, New York and the temperatures are similar. Goat Island is a state park on the US side and connects with some smaller islands that offer excellent views.

If you get all the photos you want of the falls, on the Canadian side there is a butterfly center where you can photograph different butterflies in an indoor setting. The ride to Niagara on the Lake on the Canadian side is along a parkway and the town is charming with many small shops.

Late fall is not necessarily the best time to visit the falls. Summer or Winter are the two optimal times in my opinion. That said there are still plenty of opportunities for photos at the falls and along the gorge.

Thanks everyone but I guess I wasn't clear enough since I knew and tried everything you listed before seeking advice. I always drag items directly from Photo to a thumb drive. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for most things. The same thing is happening to my files from Photoshop. Larger canvas and metal prints are desired. I already tried to load files directly to Costco site from my desktop rather than through Photo or Photoshop. The Tiff and the jpeg files both had enough size to print exacty what was ordered. I experimented with files from both PHOTO and Photoshop and had the same result.

I am having a very specific problem that never happened before when exporting files from PHOTO. I am checking the file size in PHOTO before exporting to a thumb drive or to another program. When I check the thumb drive the file size is considerable less than it was in PHOTO. First I tried jpeg files; then Tiff. The Tiff files were much larger in size but when I tried uploading to Costco for canvas prints, the file uploaded at a much smaller size. The resolution of the original files was large enough for the size canvas I wanted. I checked with Costco.

I checked my security settings and PHOTO settings but could not spot any obvious setting to change. I talked to someone from Costco and tried what they told me but could still not get the files to upload properly.

If you are using the Photos program that comes with recent versions of software for the Mac, click on a photo and bring up the editing screen. In the upper right hand corner you will see a circle with a small letter i in it. Click on this and it will bring up a small panel with photo information about that picture. In the view with the photos thumbnail view along the side you can just move down each and the small panel will stay on the main photo view.

If you are not careful all lenses are subject to lens flare. Wide angle lenses are especially prone to this because of the way the lens glass is curved out. Lens shades will help and changing the angle at which you shoot is another. If you are out side you could try to shade your lens with something besides a lens shade like a large hat.

It depends on what you want to do and how involved with the learning curve you want to be. I use Lightroom for all my raw files and Photoshop Elements for the things I want to do that aren't in Lightroom. If I just am using jpegs I usually use the Photo program that Apple provides.

The is a company called Pacsafe that sells all kinds of security gear for travelers. You might also consider insurance for your camera through the company that handles your homeowners insurance. You have too much equipment to come under a basic policy but some companies let you purchase insurance to cover your camera equipment from breakage, loss or theft.

Scrap it and get a good ball head. The plates that you use with it tend to loosen when you try to tilt your camera and it cannot be adjusted to as many angles as a ball head. I had one of these and hated it. It's still floating around in the cabinet where I keep my equipment. I suppose one of these days I'll toss it.
